I like to include potential grand slams in my portfolio. Game changing technologies with New Energy Technologies under the symbol NENE.

Shec Energy Corporation, a private company, has recently patented inventions in CSP and storage and rapid manufacturing. When scaled up, these technologies provide low cost baseload solar power at efficiencies around 30% . Shares are selling to accredited investors for $3.50- a $100 M valuation.

If you can handle a penny stock, Converted Organics under the symbol COIN. The last quarter showed a turn to profits and they own Terrasphere Systems, a next gen vertical farming company (unlike competitors) already producing revenues.

  • Solar Investors Feel The Heat [View article]
There are recent breakthrough technologies with Shec Energy, a private company CSP and storage innovator. The technology processes and stores solar heat at 850 degrees C. Shec has a proprietary liquid that stores heat at 850 degrees C compared to molten salt's max at 560 degrees. Shec has a next generation solar receiver with an emissivity loss of only about 2%. This compares well vs. parabolic trough systems emissivity loss of 45%. Shec Energy has a proprietary rapid mirror forming technology which is 30 times faster than conventional manufacturing. Conversion efficiencies are in the 30% range or double that of PV and when the technologies are scaled up are cost competitive with coal. Shares are selling to accredited investors at $3.50 a share for likely another two months, when institutional investors are looking to chime in. After doing my DD, I backed up the truck. shecenergy.com

  • The Australian Dollar May Reveal The Outlook For U.S. Equities [View article]
Before 2003 the relationships you outline seemed reversed. What changed after 2003? My concern is that drivers of the inverse relation may change. Particularly if confidence in the U.S. dollar as a safe have slips. Given the political paralysis in the U.S. and the runaway deficit in the trillions, is it possible that U.S. dollar confidence will not bolster the currency in near term economic chaos? Long term with very little room to pay more for it's debt carrying charges (interest rates can not stay at zero forever) , the U.S. seems at risk of being in a death spiral that will smash the relationship between commodity prices and the U,S, dollar.

  • Dark Day for Solar Thermal: How Does It Affect Solar Stocks? [View article]
Everything this article said is about to change. see: shecenergy.com

Canada's SHEC ENERGY reports patenting an number of inventions in utility scale concentrated solar thermal power and storage that when scaled up, represent a major reduction in costs per KW hour and would be game changers, disruptive to the CSP industry. SHEC reports a rapid manufacturing process that is thirty times faster than the fastest parabolic mirror forming methodology.

SHEC's main breakthrough is a solar beam receiver that can process heat at 850 degrees C and is likely the only such technology in the world, having an emissivity loss of only about 2%. (parabolic trough technology has about 45% loss)

SHEC has a proprietary liquid that can store heat at **850 degrees C** compared to molten salt is stores heat at 560 degrees or lower. This has game changing implications for baseload power cost reductions and increased turbine efficiencies.
SHEC ENERGY has an MOU with Sweden's Cleanergy to build *waterless* solar sterling engines which can make PV obsolete with efficiencies in the 30% range. No steam turbine needed. The problem of finding water in deserts for the turbines disappears.

Swedens’ Cleanergy has a massive demand fo sterling engines that will be made with SHEC’s receiver. Efficiency conversion rate is about 32% or about double that of typical PV tech. SHEC ENERGY is a private company engaged in a funding round at this time. The company is selling shares to accredited investors for $3.50 each which values Shec at about $100M.
SHEC ENERGY was selected to participate in the Obama administrations solar trade mission to India and has solar farm MOU’s in the region dependent on completing the integrated pilot plant. Smaller scale proofs of concept have been successful. The solar sterling engine pilot is near completion.

Germany ( after a due diligence visit to SHEC’s lab) has offered a $40 Million grant to build a parts factory there. This requires matching funds. There are a number of applications for these technologies including utility and village scale power both, efficient energy storage, hot water, air conditioning, industrial heat for smelters and any remote power needs where there is no grid connection. Institutional funders are waiting in the wings for the next large scale integrated technology pilot to be completed (smaller scale testing was successful) at which point parts factories can be built -and literally billions of dollars worth of projects capitalized. Webinars are hosted regularly.
For serious CSP players, Shec Energy is worth doing due diligence on. Personally, after doing my DD, I backed up the truck.
