  • Clearwire: With DISH Entering The Fray, A Higher Offer From Sprint Is On The Way [View article]
So far it is only the government that can acquire your property at a price they see fit to pay you. In everything else, if someone wants what you have, then they have pay what you want for it, or no deal.
There are always holdouts in every takeover deal. It can take years to buy all of the shares, or even find some of the shareholders. There's always an old lady somewhere who doesn't want sell her shares because grandpa gave it to her for her tenth birthday, but a substantial offer by the deal maker, usually changes her mind.

@Erb69: You are not getting the fact that the majority of the shares can vote in favor of the Sprint deal, but they can not force the minority shareholders to sell against their will. The hold outs want more money per share, and if S wants all of CLWR, then they will have to pay more cash for those outstanding shares.

  • Dear Apple Board, This Is How You Defend The Share Price [View article]
The amateurs after the reversal, as I said, as the price cratered they ran for the exits, just making things worse for themselves. The ones who kept some of their shares, are the ones commenting here that someone else should do something to raise the price of their shares.
They condemn the people who are willing to risk their money, but they won't put any more of their own money in the market buying AAPL shares. That is why the price of AAPL is so low. The ribbon cutters were scared out of the market. Happens all the time.

Yes SoftBank has made a killing with the iPhone in Japan. And they are here in the USA trying to get control of Sprint because it has a bunch of stock in CLWR, that uses bandwidth compatible with Japan, India AND China, which is why China Mobile wants it too. CM knows they can never get it, and get by USA regulators, but AAPL can!

There was no way AAPL was going with the profit margin sharing with CM. Cook said no before. Something has changed now, and AAPL being CM gateway into USA market may well be the deal going down soon.

  • Apple (AAPL) retail VP Jerry McDougal has left the company, a spokesman confirms. McDougal is leaving as Apple continues looking for a retail SVP to succeed John Browett, whose controversial tenure ended in October. McDougal was mentioned as 1 of 3 possible internal replacements for Browett in a recent AllThingsD column; 5 external candidate were also mentioned. [View news story]
I'm always glad when the rats leave.

Long term holders only lose if they sell at a loss. Buy more AAPL. Put more of your money on the line, to complete against the hedge funds, sell side traders and other bogeymen that you condemn, who are willing to put their money at risk to make a profit. If more of the whiners, such as yourself, did the same, then AAPL would be flying much higher in price.

Grow up. The market requires all kinds of traders and trades. That's what makes a market. If everyone thought as you do, then every corporation would only be selling for break up value. Put your money where your mouth is and buy more AAPL stock, then watch the price rise. Your basic complaint is the others are better at manipulating the stock price for their benefit, than your are, and those others are willing to put their money where their mouths are, and you are not. No balls, no glory, no profit. Welcome to the real world.

By the way I'm bullish and long on AAPL.

Yes it is. Losing people no one ever heard about is fine. They can be replaced with other complete unknowns. AAPL's marketing is much larger than a couple of people.

You should support the price of AAPL stock by buying more of it. That solves the problem. Don't expect others to do for you, what you won't do for yourself. Stop the whine.

You really need to get better equipment at work. I recommend AAPL. You won't have to worry about security.

What could have drawn AAPL Tim Cook back to China, after China Mobile demanded a share in AAPL sales through them, after AAPL said NO to that nonsense? What else could CM want from AAPL, that AAPL would go along with. Is there a deal that AAPL will acquire 2.5 Ghz bandwidth that CM would never get passed by USA regulators? AAPL could easily get it by outbidding everyone for CLWR. then make some "sharing" deal with CM, and everyone is happy? (well almost!)

Jason Kaplan, your photo makes you appear clueless. So does your article. Fortunately you are not in charge at AAPL, so we can look forward to great things from that company.
