  • Dear Apple Board, This Is How You Defend The Share Price [View article]
Einhorn is a corporate raider. His idea will ill the long term investors. Apple is still a growth stock, transitioning to a growth-value stock. Tim Cook, in eliminating the possibility of Apple ever having a preferred stock again, is doing what Steve Jobs would have done.

Senior securities, bonds and preferred shares, are parasites on the common stock shares and their owners. Use your proxy votes to oppose preferred shares. Preferred shares are just another tool for wall street pirates to dismantle Apple for a fast buck, leaving the common shareholders, holding an empty bag.

  • Einhorn's Apple Preferred Stock Dividend Solution [View article]
Apple is still a growth stock, which is transitioning to a Growth/Value stock. It needs a large war chest of readily available assets, in order to expand their operator, and hopefully by buying existing companies to grow Apple.

Einhorn is a hedge fund corporate looter. His "suggestion" is a short term scam to grab cash from Apple and dump the stock. The long term investors, and Apple's future growth, will be severely, adversely affected by Einhorn's suggestion.

Einhorn's complaints that each issue should be separate voting issues, is correct, but that is a point of order, not any crime, nor libelous action by Apple.

Eliminating the future possibility of preferred shares, is good for Apple's long term investor's, and it is what Steve Jobs would have done. Senior securities, bonds and preferred shares, are parasites on the wealth of the common stock shareholders of Apple, who are the owners of Apple.

An anemic quarter, that was better than any other company's quarter.

@Rootarmo: So you shouldn't invest in AAPL, if that is how you feel about it.

@ajbstrat: At least he didn't refer to Cramer as an "investment advisor."

@Dividends#1: Good, take a year off. When some one claims to be dispensing "common sense" about the stock market, then I stop listening. Success requires uncommon sense.

@Dividends#1: If you don't believe AAPL can keep up that pace, or better it in the near future, then you shouldn't invest in AAPL shares.

Stay away from high value, growth stocks such as AAPL, and stick with high dividend paying stocks of your choice, and be happy with that.

Warren Buffet doesn't hedge with options insurance bets, because, at least so far, he has been able to buy and hold long term stocks that have gone up in value. He invests all of the funds allotted to said stock purchase at the beginning, without hedging insurance bets, because they would take away from money that could be invested initially. He has investments in numerous individual publicly traded stocks, with no option hedges at all, not ever. For long term investment, option hedges are poorly allocated money.

  • Regardless Of Price, Apple's Intrinsic Value Is Still On Its Way To $1,000 [View article]
@bigcitytownfarm: I too am tired of "The law of large numbers" plunked down as a sentence, in a thread on an investment website, by persons who have no idea of what they are talking about.

@Misho: I know that you are talking nonsense. You are treating the over all economy as a stationary, non moving, statistic, while treating one company as a dynamic, growing statistic. A company is part of the economy and if a company grows the economy grows too, so it is impossible for a company to become larger than the economy that it is only a part of. Likewise, your illogical notion that only Apple will grow and everything else in the economy won't grow, in order to achieve your nonsensical "point" of Apple being 99.9999% of the economy. It is your arguments that do not pertain to the real world in any way what so ever. That's what I know.

The "luxury" of an iPhone is available for well under a $1000. That's easily affordable for the majority of people in the USA, and even millions of people in places such as India and China, who want the quality, rather than the luxury, that Apple iPhone represents.
