  • Book Review: Money - Master The Game [View article]
Thanks, Cullen. We need all the objective book reviews like this that we can get. I wonder why Robbins doesn't recommend just plain stocks so an investor can experience, even if he chooses this approach for just a limited portion of his portfolio, the basic nuts and bolts of our capitalist system.

And so the guilty headless horsemen of the SEC go unprosecuted again just like those in other federal agencies. And the beat goes on and on and on.

    Mr. Salmon

This a message that should be repeated time and time again. Thank you for it. Other than INET, would you please tell us, your readers, of any other think tanks are genuinely independent in your opinion? (Domestic, and/or Foreign in English. What do you think of, for instance, Shareholders Unite in the Netherlands?

RIGHT ON! Yours is the most salient comment of all the above. However, you mention "Congress" as being the bad guys. Your comments fits the Republicans better me thinks.

Would very much appreciate it if you would show dividends/current yield in tables like this for the benefit of old codgers like me who like income flow as well as just growth.

    Thanks,

Many thanks to SU. It adds so much depth and perspective to an "issue" to receive opinions from sources outside one's home country.

Shame on you for owning CVX. It has broken every safety/good environmental practices rules in the book. Isn't anyone ever going to add ethics/morality to their screening of investable stocks?

  • Time For Investors To Take Back Our Streets. Here's How [View article]
Thank you for this great essay. You left one important aspect of good investing principles out, in my opinion, and it is as important for investors to practice as anything else. This is to judge a company's morality/ethics before one invests. In this regard JNJ doesn't measure up very well, nor does CVX (note details of recent disaster in Richmond, CA), BP etc. etc.

Too bad no one speaks of morality/ethics in delineating investment rules. JNJ sure wouldn't rank very high in my opinion.

I guess morality/ethics never comes in to the discussion of investing rules. JNJ has had a crumby record in this regard.

  • Steve Forbes: How To Bring Back America [View article]
If Forbes were objective he 'd admit of the malfeasance and worse of our country's banks and other financial institutions, particularly over the last 5-10 years, not to mention fraud etc. by an array of companies in other industries. And this is under existing regulations. Think of what FREE enterprise would look like. Forbes is an ideologue clinging to generalizations that absolve him of the necessity to think.
