  • Why I Hang Onto My Gold Portfolio [View article]
You sound exactly like me when explaining to 3 others whom I told to buy gold/silver 3 years ago, everything is so much worse than the gov't. "figures" indicate, interest rates are being kept artificially low, unemployment is actually closer to 10-12%, and the economy is much weaker than reported. I know if I sold my metals the true info would shine thru and I'd watch the metals skyrocket. So I sit and wait and am being patient

  • AdTech Year In Review: A Story Of Consolidation And A Consolidation Of Stories [View article]
I have been a holder of ADTM for 2-3 years, have been frustrated like most BUT! being they are still trading, are seemingly doing things correctly and have some intelligent people both as employees and investors I'm in for the duration. I look at it like this, $12-$15 OR .01 and with a risk reward like that and the stock much closer to the .01 than $12 it's worth the risk. Why, if I paid $8-$9 with the same risk/reward it's not worthwhile, with a c/b closer to $.50 it is, get in now and the r/r is still good. Once it does begin to move it will move quickly, again, either direction.

Seldom doesn't mean never, and I think Apple may be an aberration, so having 2 examples of the literally 100's of occurrences is hardly a repudiation of my comment, give me closer to 20-25 and I will feel proven wrong, seldom is still the correct statement

This stock shows why patience is so vital when investing, I have owned a core posn. in this stock for over 10 years (when it came public) and have watched it bounce all over, however I am sure with their technology in the 3 fields they're in that they will become a smaller part of a bigger company at some point, and at a price in the low-mid $40's, so I hold my core posn. and trade around a secondary posn.

  • Energous: Post-CES Observations [View article]
You obviously have no idea how stocks or the stock market work, a stock that went from $8 to $12 and back down to $9 is hardly in the gutter, go get a calculator and calculate a 50% retracement, from 8 to 12 is a 50% gain, from 12 to 9 is 25% drop, this is not only common it's GOOD. See where it goes from here

  • Energous: Post-CES Observations [View article]
    My post PRE CES:

Being new to WATT (since Monday) and reading all the comments I see some that are pretty pie in the sky and some that seem to have substantial due diligence and value, however NOT being new to investing (began when I was 13, I am now 54) I absolutely expect to see the stock sell-off tomorrow(1/7) and possible for 1-2 more days, the stock has run up in anticipation of CES so when the presentation is done and the floorshow is over I expect many folks that got in 7-10 days ago to sell and take some nice profits, then beginning Friday/Monday to see the stock begin to move up again albeit a bit slower. Having said that I am going to begin doing my own DD and will post whatever I find, good or bad, before I have much skin in this game. My EARLY a.m. trade for tomorrow would have been to BUY the Jan $10 or $11 PUT, however with no $11 I would consider the $10 @ .40 but hate the fact there $1.50 out of the $$$. Good luck longs

always expect stocks that run up in anticipation of an event to drop on the actual event, in fact I posted that and an expected price for AFTER CES and have been very close.

I had 1 stock blow-up late 2014, my 1st in ~8-9 years, woke up this a.m. and saw this potential disaster and closed out the posn. with a small loss but did NOT want to see another $2-$3 handle as I was also naked 50 PUTS, too many other stocks without the potential problem

your statement is just not accurate, not nearly everyone who wants a gun has one, that's like saying anyone who wants a car, a refrigerator, etc. there are always people who want something, maybe it a replacement, a 1st purchase, a gift, etc. the demand may slow at some points in time but will never be fully satiated.

  • With CES Approaching, Energous Should See Its Growth Multiple Soar [View article]
Enersavr, people will read into something whatever moves their agenda, if you're either short or not liking the stock you will read all negative replies, any stock that goes up ~40% on the expectation of good news and sells off by as much as 20% is healthy and how a stock NOT being all hype should react. Ignore the negative noise and do the work yourself, anyone who relies on others do do the due diligence necessary will only get back the same as you put into it, and that's very little if anything

Debt to buy shares is very seldom a good idea, debt for expansion, acquisition, those are usually wiser uses of debt.

Don't be wrong and shoot yourself in the foot. :) I am very long SWHC, I am well aware of price pressures and inventory issues, however the gun market will NOT go away, will NOT be regulated out of existence, and the more violence we see daily will only force non gun owners to feel the need to have some home protection more proactive than an alarm. Also the racial problems that are now rising to the surface can again only be a catalyst for purchase. Having said that S&W has an excellent line of reasonably priced 22,& 35 as well as a very lightweight 357 than I just bought for ~$425 a very reasonable price for a well made gun, (made in America) it may take 12-18 months to sell thru all the inventory and price issues but I would much rather be early and build a posn, than start building a posn and not get my full allocation at a price I want to pay.
