  • Crunching The Numbers: BlackBerry Severely Undervalued [View article]
The 2 carriers that I went to see today were all recommending the Z10 model and telling customers that it was the hot seller this month.
After a demonstration, people were buying this without any questions.

    Long BBRY

  • There's a 90% chance BB10 flops and BlackBerry (BBRY -3.7%) shares go to $7, argues MKM's Michael Genovese, who is cutting the smartphone vendor to Sell. Genovese claims less than 10% of the most popular Android apps, and less than 5% of the most popular iPhone apps, are available on BB10. He also thinks U.K. Z10 momentum has stalled, and that carrier checks "suggest unwillingness to carry heavy BB10 inventory." Several other firms have also issued critical notes on BlackBerry over the last 7 days (I, II, III, IV); shares -15% since the BB10 launch event. [View news story]
What does the have to do with how many phones BB is selling.
Everyone that I talk to that has one, says that they love it.

That is a really great sign.

  • Samsung (SSNLF.PK) has made corporate sales a "top three priority" for its mobile-phone unit, but while it has a 16% market share vs 50% for Apple (AAPL) and 10% for BlackBerry (BBRY), security concerns exist given Samsung's use of Android. To help overcome those fears, Samsung has teamed up with GD (GD) to get Pentagon approval, while it's also poached execs from rivals and mobile-security companies. [View news story]
Samsung has been down this road many times, and have been shown the door. It's a no go for them. Sorry Samsung. It won't work.........again.

  • Crunching The Numbers: BlackBerry Severely Undervalued [View article]
Don't forget to add revenue for apps, NFC fees, possible license fees for BBM @ $6 per non blackberry phone per year, ..... And just how many non blackberry phones are on the market.

I'm hearing from Waterloo that the supply can't keep up with the demand. In Saudi Arabia, 1 carrier received 4250 pre orders for the Z10 in under 2 days. This could amount to 10,000 phones. They are having a hard time keeping up.

What are some of these analysts talking about?

    And very good read.

This is something that an analyst should be doing. Not pulling numbers out of the air saying things like..... Channel Checks show that sales are slowing.

Analysts are their to make up stories to try to get the market going in a direction that favors them. Many of them are paid under the table to move the market in a certain direction. Put it this way. If the analysts were right 51% of the time, and everyone in the world listened to them, then everyone in the world would be very, very rich.

    Long - BBRY

The Z10 is an outstanding phone.

  • BlackBerry (BBRY +3%) is rebounding a bit from last week's bludgeoning in spite of a critical note from Canaccord's Mike Walkley. Walkley, who's reiterating a Sell, joins Deutsche in arguing early Z10 sellout were due to limited supplies, and claims follow-up checks indicate "steady but modest sales levels." He's now forecasting just 300K BB10 sales for the Feb. quarter (ed: that seems low even if sales are light, considering channel inventory), down from a prior 1.4M. [View news story]
    They are in silent mode.

word from Waterloo is that the Z10 is selling beyond their expectations. That's a great sign.

    Looks good.
But the number is based on region, and not world wide.
