  • CenturyLink Shocks The Market With Its Dividend Cut [View article]
Well, if you're gonna chase shaky outfits for yield, better suit up and make sure all the important parts are protected, because you'll endure some nasty hits along the way.

FTR is down over 7% today, too.

MTGE Having non agency securities in their portfolio is good. Gives them a bit of diversity. If you like NAS', check out ARR, who primarily hold them.

  • Vietnam ETF Up 31% In 2013 [View article]
Having served, just can't bring myself to investing in anything to do with Vietnam. I even avoid buying their foodstuffs and other products.

    Besides, the dividend's lousy.

    Thanks.

  • United Stationers Inc: Fundamental Stock Research Analysis [View article]
Good article on a relatively unknown outfit. My son works for them. Good, progressive small cap company, and one of the leaders in their business.

I agree with barry about the dividend. It's only about a 25% ratio, which is a little skimpy.

  • Armour's New Preferred At A Discount Is A Deal [View article]
Thanks for your continuing article on preferred stocks.

I've always liked ARR because it's into mainly hybrids, so not as dependent on govt. stuff.

I like DX better, however, which is why I'm long, albeit the lower payout.

  • 3 Defense Contractor Dividends To Watch Over The Next Month [View article]
    Good, concise article.

I share your view on RTN. I like them because I think they are the most diversified into civilian applications. Also, their Debt/Equity is favorable.

Your EPS target of 52 is a little high for me, however. I'd be seriously interested in the 40s.

    Thanks.

Yes, you did answer my question quite well. Thanks.

I note that VNR has had some nice insider buying lately, also.

    I like RTN better.

Not as sexy, lower dividend, but less debt, lower payout ratio, more diversified into civilian applications, and Vanguard Wellington is a sizable investor.
