I stopped reading at the third bullet point; well, second actually, when it said non-cumulative and perpetual.

Agree with the author...no value here.

  • Understanding The Implications Of Lower Oil Prices [View article]
I think that by the time we adjust to lower oil prices, it'll be back up to $70 again. This is a very temporary phenomenon.

  • Kinder Morgan: The Only Energy Company Worth Buying, Really [View article]
    sheep,

ENB is old news. KMI is what's happening now.

Besides, ENB has too many environmental issues with resultant claim payments.

  • Will ConocoPhillips Cut Its Dividend? [View article]
with a ttm payout ratio of 48%, doubt if the crash in oil prices (which won't last that long anyway, IMO) is going to put COP's dividend in immediate jeopardy.

Now, if low prices sustain past the end of '15, that's another scenario.

  • Dynagas LNG Partners L.P. - An LNG Transport MLP For The More Risk Tolerant [View article]
    Dirk,

A very (overdue) complete article on this interesting new LP, which I've been following. Kudos.

Perhaps a subsequent article could deal with their arctic capabilities and the resultant time and fuel savings going forward.

I don't think the Greece thing is a big red flag. Greek shipping has sustained through a variety of governments since WWII and should do so in the future.

Regarding analysts, I consider them to be bunch of lemmings, and following them will often cause one to buy high and sell low.

    Thanks.

  • Realty Income: Why Now Is Not A Good Time To Sell This REIT Nugget [View article]
    Why sell it at all?

Great companies paying monthly dividends close to 5% (at price I bought it) don't grow on trees.

This one's a keeper. As long as the model and fundamentals stay solid, I'm in.

  • Physicians Realty Reports Healthy Acquisitions With Growth Off The Charts [View article]
    Brad,

HCP would look a lot more attractive to me a couple of bucks less than the current pps, which is cents away from a 52 week high.

After hours trading implies a Tuesday opening of around $49, which is only a couple of dollars less than most analysts peg fair value.

    Thanks,

  • 10 Reasons Why Every Serious Investor Should Read Barrons [View article]
    Archman

"So called "experts" who are nothing more than extremely overpaid salespeople trying to rook mom and pop investor into a stock these salespeople either need to buy or need to unload to the dumb money"

Wondered how far I'd have to scroll down to encounter a consipiracy type comment like this.

Barron's sells subscriptions. They are not an investment house, don't trade stocks or bonds, and have no particular ax to grind one way or the other. Their authors offer opinions, not pumps or dumps. They are often wrong, but there are no nefarious plots afoot here. If they had interests in securities they write about, they would have to disclose it...that's the law....(as an SA contributor you should know this) or they could go to the slammer.

One could debate whether in fact certain SA authors aren't trying to, for instance with a favorable article like IPPLF. Hmmm?

Whether or not one can find the same information "for free" versus subscriptions (Morningstar, Value Line, Barron's etc.) is arguable. At least the facts behind the opinions are there to see.
