In South Texas as well and it basically flies off the shelves.

I am sort of with you on this one Seth. I get the coffee idea, it saves you from brewing a pot and then letting sit all day. The cappuccino saves you a buck or 2 and offers major convenience advantages. But the soda industry already comes pretty conveniently and cheaply. I do not see much in GMCR either. But to be honest, I never saw the value of the K cup, my wife insisted on buying it, and now it is an indispensable appliance for me.

I think he is talking about Mexican immigrants who indeed love their KO. Of course it is a sweeter recipe.

I think they should buy MCD and that way we could consolidate all the grief about health and wage rates into one entity. They would need their own military.

  • Seriously, I Swear I'm Not Bearish On Intel! Honest! Really! [View article]
Thanks Minute. I seen the upgrades but as far as I know INTC has not budged from its "flat 2014" mantra. I am a tad nervous that analysts are upgrading, while INTC is silent. Those guys are like weather forecasts, just no accountability for their words, actions.

I understand Birder's comments, it is just so hard to rationalize that folks that drive the efforts for more pot, lighter drug penalties also drive the obese police. Still, I think your point is accurate, and I personally have cut out KO even though I own the stock.

  • Enormous Hidden Value On Coca-Cola's Balance Sheet [View article]
I don't get it. Wouldn't these Marketable Equities would be right below cash on the balance sheet and used in all current ratios and debt assessments?

Ok - so WTH is up with INTC? Rising in a tech slaughter?

As an INTC bull - I really appreciate the against the grain take QTR. The last thing that INTC bulls need, whether we realize it or not, is an echo chamber that never highlights negative issues that impact INTC. So I say it is all good, just thanks, and no hate.

  • Coke: Currently Offering A 3% Yield [View article]
KO is the most overrated stock in my portfolio. Always hear bullish things about it - but I think it is time to understand it is an underperformer.

  • 971K cars added to GM ignition switch recall [View news story]
What will be interesting is if they try to assert bankruptcy - new entity protection for the cars produced before the bailout. Hey this is a new GM go talk to the old GM kind of a deal. Then Mr. Obama will have his ample ears perk up. Hope he does the right thing and honors the liability - sure looks like that is what is going on - but the trials may be affected since they will likely occur and settle after 2016

Nice article QTR. QQ - are you sure they are abandoning their project? Couldn't this be a merger of the efforts in a more focused structure?

  • Wall Street 'Bloodbath' Captured On Live TV [View article]
I guess I see both sides. How is that for a strong statement? On one hand, AAPL has created an unbelievable APP business that gets them billions of revenues at incredible margins. They continue to be a great bet on what the future holds, as they are still a top company on the innovation side.

But what gets me about AAPL is that the market keeps expecting exponential growth and because that is no longer there it just creates a huge AAPL "short" kind of sentiment. Losing share is a big deal, and that to me creates enough risk to stay away from AAPL in the short term.

  • McDonald's Shareholders: We Got A Few More Years Of Low Growth Ahead [View article]
I would offer the following advice to MCD:
    1. Split your stock in half. May be only psychological - but doesn't mean it won't help.
    2. Focus on your customers and not your enemies. You will never satisfy the "obese police" - you have tried. You have your calories posted all over, you have expanded your food offerings to include low calorie options. You still get targeted while the BK across the street runs their bacon sundae special without reaction.
    3. Get back to basics. More quality, better service, sacrifice some of the items that slow you down.
