I am an individual investor. My education is in Elementary Education and I am retired. I ran my own small business for 18 years. My main stock interest is in biotech. I have owned many different biotechs for 28 years. About 10 have been bought out.
Demonstrated success is the one outstanding fact which justifies confidence in the outlook for any particular business, and thus the investor will always, as a first test for an industry security, carefully consider the results already obtained. John Moody

I have studied to ply my trade in finance with a bachelors in accounting. In 2014, I developed an app to access corporate disclosure materials at the SEC. My grandparent’s home was filled with valuing investing paraphernalia and, naturally, I became interested in the stock market.

Michael Kramer is a thematic growth investor. He likes to think about themes in society and find long term equity investments that fit those themes.
Michael is the founding member of Mott Capital Management, LLC in 2014. Prior to MCM Michael spent the previous 10 years working as a domestic and international equity trader. During this time he was responsible for handling trades in some of the most illiquid equities. Additionally, Michael has experience trading in some of the most exotic foreign markets.
Mott Capital Management is a Thematic Growth investor using themes and trends in life to find exciting growth stories. Once we find a theme we want to capitalize on we begin searching for products that interact with the end user. From there we begin the company search process. We are long-term because that is our edge. We understand and recognize when events are critical and when they are not. We also believe it is a way to neutralize market volatility.

Starting as a summer intern in 1978, Kirk worked for 20 as a scientist and engineer at Hewlett Packard's research and development department (R&D) designing solid state devices and components for optical communication. While he was at HP, Kirk invested ten to twenty percent per year of his salary. He made some mistakes early on (starting with paying high fees for "expert" advice that under performed) but soon he learned to invest his own money well enough to afford a life of "semi-retirement" to work for himself. In a way, since leaving HP in 1998, Kirk became his own "angel investor" using his his own money and investing success to finance his lifestyle in Los Altos, California to invest in a new career on the internet helping others do the same. Full time sales rep with two kids. Used to just google stocks for info, but came across SA in December 2013 and was hooked. Would love to do this full time one day...fascinated with finding those diamonds in the rough, specifically biotechs.
Spent a month learning by reading SA articles/comments and googling terminology. There are a lot of smart folks here, so I have sifted thru the BS and made my first long term investment in $PVCT early in January 2014. Looking forward to a fun ride with more to come!
I'm a part time investor very new to the market. I hold 1/3 of my portfolio in large cap growth names (safe) that I don't plan to sell soon, 1/3 in safe names with growth potential in short/medium term, and 1/3 in speculative play: biotech, and companies with good story but beaten by the market.
My investment strategy is built around the creation of an income stream that will provide me with long term flexibility. I believe there are many ways to accomplish this goal from buying stocks that have an income component at value, to cash flow generating real estate investments to bond and bond equivalents. Each investor must know where they're trying to get to, then create a formula that works best for them. I choose to focus on income because it allows me to sleep more comfortably.
Part time trader, Basically long term investor, but here and there make some short term trades, (I'm still young, could digest some risk).

Since 1978 have experienced and studied many market cycles in bonds, stocks, options, etc. Tend to question herd thinking, some might call me a contrarian. A big mistake made when young (1970’s) by avoiding bonds and investing in risky stocks. It was a great lesson in risk management.
Seek long-term strategic trends while keeping an eye open for short-term tactical opportunities. Pay close attention to cash-flow statement, balance sheet and the allocation of capital.
Warning flags go up when board of directors allocate owners money to departing owners via share repurchase programs. Very few share repurchase programs have been found that add value, but many that hurt fixed income investors.
