  • About Seadrill's Latest Quarter [View article]
Simple fact is: We are going to continue to drill for oil for a LOOOONG time. Somebody is gong to pay the drillers to do it. With all the fear/litigation from the BP spill, companies aren't going to take the chance with the older 15+ year old rigs. So that leaves a handful of companies with new drillships. SDRL being the biggest with the newest. I cant/wont say how long it will take, but SDRL will be back.

Really this doesn't have anything to do with SDRL. Its all about the current OIL market and the dropping price of oil as a whole. every oil stock took a hit today. SDRL is still the best of the best. Ill hold on for 5 years and make a killing.

i may get bashed for this, but i say "no". if you are buying in the drilling area just buy SDRL. why buy two companies that do the same thing. Thats not diversifying at all. if something happens they all will go down so pick the best one and let it ride.

so thats roughly 75 billion they wont have to spend next year or the following year. hmmm so i wonder what they could possibly do with an extra 75 billion? maybe buybacks or up the divi. uh, yes please.

I find it amusing that these "time to buy on weakness" articles come out now. If you did any homework, you knew to be buying a month ago when SDRL was at 34. Once again "when theres blood on the streets..."
