  • Mac Pricing: Value Is in the Eye of the Buyer [View article]
You have to look beyond the hardware. Apple sells a package of well built, technically decent machines, superb service, unmatched integration, superb design and a great OS. What that's worth to people is their decision. Judging by their sales and profits history, they appear to know what they're doing.

The lower prices are as much a competitive response as it is a reflection of costs. Apple was, and probably still is, the lowest cost manufacturer of pc's. Their operations area gets little press but it is an envy of manufacturers.

  • Revisiting the iPhone’s Browsing Market Share (Part II)  [View article]
Admob should buy an iPhone. They would then understand their market a whole lot better.

I can render a complex web page on my iPhone about 4 times quicker than my old Windows "Smart"phone. That is if the page even loads in IE.

Anyone who uses Admob's data to make a business decision is a fool.

  • Is Windows Mobile a Threat to Research in Motion?  [View article]
I just purchased my first (and last) Windows Mobile phone. While I have a bias as I'm a Mac user, its Windows through and through. Poorly organized, endless pressing through menus to get the most basic of cell phone functionality, a defacto reliance on 3rd party software as the MS bundled software is borderline useless and I can boot my Powerbook off the battery faster than it takes this phone to boot.

Yes Palm's OS is buggy and obsolete. Windows Mobile is not a solution.
