“We will vigorously dispute the FCC’s assertions,” an AT&T spokesman said in a statement.

    Go ATT!

Sorry but sympathy meter is on zero for bandwidth hogs.
If you all need so much BW to text selfies and play mindless internet games, then why shouldn't you pay pay more or get a reduced BW?

    interesting article Eli....

One question.. When in the year are you assume to sell your stock?
"Typically" stocks are highest in 4Q - 1Q. Could be lower in the summer "swoon".

    best regards

  • How I Defossilized My Portfolio - Part 1 [View article]
    Yeah,
That's because I am a real scientist and would get fired for falsifying data.
Poor Prof Mann is still trying to find where the dog buried his Hockey Stick data... 10 years after ... (a great band with Alvin Lee, for you boomers).

Or maybe I could be an editor of a refereed journal and make sure no articles that called question on my sloppy research were allowed to be published.... as per the now infamous professors at East Anglesy University in England.

There is Deceit afoot in the man made global warming religion.
    Ignore it at your peril.

    Thanks DS,

As a former scientist techie, I assiduously avoid investing in tech.

Odd, but I have a couple books in my New England farm house by Bernard Baruch where he stipulates the danger on investing in that you.. think.. you know.

Hence, all my investments are in things I have to work to understand.
    It keeps me honest....

    best regards...

    Yes,
Thank you for the links... verifies that the "science" is crap. Do you even know who the authors are and their ... infamy... in scientific circles?

How long until you people start proposing to bring back animal sacrafice to appease your angry sky god?

  • Bank Of America: There Is Still Time To Ride This Bank Way Up [View article]
    Interesting thesis RS.

Your chart shows a divergence for ST vs. MT/ LT rates. And it does show it for a year now. Very interesting, but again, the chart also shows earlier increases only to be followed by a decrease in real interest rates.

Obviously, no place for the weak of heart.

    A questionable character at best.

And here I thought "Alphaman" had grown up and gone to college by now.

    But then again,
if he didn't elect a useful major that could get him a job......

  • Don't Get Caught Holding This 'Safe' Stock When The Fed Hikes Rates [View article]
"As that environment shifts, conservative investors will likely stampede for the exits, causing a sharp drop in the stock."

    I think not.

Many authors and commentators here at SA have held this stock and others like it for decades and took advantage of prices drops to buy or Drip more.

PG has a long and successful history of negotiating economic gyrations and consumer trends.

    Interesting opinion.

How do you reconcile it with the many articles on SA and elsewhere that
detail positions (JNJ, KO, PG, KMB, etc., etc.) that grow from a couple thousand to a million over 20 - 30 yrs?

    Thanks D4L,

"I know several people who have purchased one or more of these get-rich-now kits,.."

....... The only ones who get rich are the ones selling the kits....

I started a position in CAT a couple days ago in one of my portfolios. I shall enjoy the 10% increase in my first payout later this summer.

    happy investing...

  • Kinder Morgan Is Getting Hit By The Bears Again [View article]
    IMHO,

Our "friends" in ME are royally PO'ed at the success of American oil/ gas companies to lower costs and increase output. As such, there are many "leading citizens" and their subsidized minions that will attack a stock of choice.

Recall the many empty articles even on SA of late dissing KO, MCD, KMI, etc., etc.. by people who obviously do not do their own investing. One such article even cited a study of 500 people in Consumer Report.... Consumer Report!... to inform his investment thesis.

    NET;
there are people of vast wealth and ...no... integrity that see the connected world as an opportunity to manipulate stocks for their own short term gain.

Hence one must be careful about concentration of one's holdings if one is dependent on the capital in the short term. Any stock can be a target these days.

    Careful Investing!
