  • Document Security Systems - Patent-Infringement Activity Is Expected To Heat Up In The Next 2 Months [View article]
The NFL is a target customer DSS is pursuing. Should they successfully court the NFL, the stock will take off. The news today regarding "patent trolls" appears to help them, maybe. Court decisions will still have to be made. Personally, I'd like to see DSS sell their products and become profitable doing so. I mentioned on another board today, that if the uptick was due to the Seeking Alpha article, be prepared to watch the pps lose some ground over the next few days. That was prior to reading about the change announced in Washington. I added at $1.08 and will do so again, should it drop in the next week or so. Regardless, I'm staying long.

  • AMD jumps following CEO's CNBC talk [View news story]
My earnings from AMD were moved elsewhere. I have not ruled out a return to AMD, but should I return it will be with more shares than I previously held and I will buy at equal or lesser value. I took profits from AMD and should I reenter it will be at an even better position than previously held. I agree with you, AMD is going to jump, the issue is WHEN. Ive been following closely for nearly two years and my read is I will have an opportunity yet, to jump in at less than when I took profits. If I miss the boat, I still wish those of you still in there a great bullish trip.

  • Advanced Micro Devices: Did You Get Fooled Again? [View article]
I don't comment often, but would like to contribute to this one. A lot of good points made by AE and also by some of the readers, particularly Bileebong. Yes, AMD is the distant second place contender in a market that has hit a plateau. Yes, AMD is a TRADE and not an INVESTMENT at this time. Much of what has been mentioned here is true. So, why aren't you working and enjoying the TRADE aspect of this stock? If you've been watching it, like I have, for more than a year, you should see the capabilities here. The big players are churning this stock every quarter and will continue to do so until some BIG BANG changes it. Whats the big bang gonna be? A new invention? A bankruptcy? A merger? Could be anything, but I'm betting the game changer for all these companies, AMD, INTC, NVIDIA, etc is CHINA.

  • 3 Reasons AMD's Moat Is Getting Bigger [View article]
I have been following AMD for nearly a year now, taking occasional profits along the way. You wrote a very good synopsis for new investors, and the Bald Eagle news was something I was unaware of. As a small investor I believe the real key to the console story is whether or not Sony and Microsoft will be allowed the opportunity to sell their consoles in China. If allowed, this becomes a big windfall for AMD. I have seen several articles that SUGGEST this is the case, but have yet to see definitive proof that China has opened the door for these imports. Can someone please confirm this?

  • Why Lions Gate May Not Be Worth Holding [View article]
I like LGF, they offer a very strong product portfolio. The television division will continue growing. The Hunger Games franchise has cashed in on only 1/4 of it's earning capabilities. Like all long term film franchises, they will have at least one bomb, but it won't be Part 2, which will match the revenues of Part 1. Box office numbers do not portray the entire story in this Industry. DVD, downloads, video games, and merchandising are all revenue streams people seem to forget. The recent drop in price is temporary, hang on to your shares, we will be in the 40's by November.

  • Advanced Micro Devices' Q2 Computing Solutions Operations, Doubts, And More Leaked Benchmarks [View article]
I believe the drop on Friday was a huge over reaction to the earnings report. Happily I shed all my shares late Thursaday afternoon and bought back 50% on Friday afternoon. Heres my take : AMD as a long play is a smart move, patience is key for those who don't follow on a daily basis. AMD over the next two quarters will exhibit several money making opportunities, just as they have these past two quarters. The Q2 earnings report was actually better than Q1, both beat analysts expectations, although AMD continued losing money. The forecasts presented by Rory Read these past 9 months have been accurate with one exception, the earnings potential of consoles. Considering those consoles have not been released to market, and the earnings potential overall may be grand, I applaud Read and company for the revalued assessment. You can count on market fluctuations until AMD reports an actual profit, which if Read is correct, will happen in Q3. Until that point, you can count on several waves of earnings opportunities, or disappointments, depending on your trading finesse. This Stock is a good long term hold and back at $4.00 is a good buy for some. Considering the improved Q2 report, I'd be very surprised to see AMD drop far from the $4.00 benchmark. I predict we will see at least two repeats of Fridays rise and fall during the next Quarter. Beyond that, AMD will slowly move higher. One more thing to consider. If China approves the sale of X-boxOne and PS4, you will see record sales, even with a smaller margin per unit, AMD becomes a BIG winner.

  • Hold IBM And Nokia, Sell AMD, Consider Cisco And BlackBerry [View article]
Other things to consider with consoles. First, there is a new generation of gamers (13 to 18) who have very little experience with a NEW model of gaming. Current 18 year olds were 11 when the last generation was released. This will be the first "real" purchase for this gang. Considering the history of gaming, there are still huge numbers of "older" players who remain hooked, coupled with the new generation coming up. That translates into the biggest potential market for a next generation release EVER. There is also a strong potential these games will be released in China. The "always on" status of these new consoles reduces greatly the likelihood of piracy, a major reason Console makers stay away from that fat market. Playstation 4 is going to sell a minimum of 50 million units, chances are that number will be far greater. AMD licensing agreements will bring in $billions of revenue. The PS4 deal was a boon to AMD, the Microsoft deal, more importantly, only validates that AMD is a star on the horizon. Mobile gaming is here to stay, no doubt. Cell phone games have taken a good percentage of the market, but Consoles are a DESTINATION for gamers. Think of it like this. You stop at McDonalds(cell phone games) during your busy day, but you dine with your Wife at an upscale restaurant(Console gaming) when you're on a serious date. You've got cash enough for both those events, because you make sure you've got cash enough for both those events.
