"The Board of Directors of Northern Tier Energy GP LLC, the general partner of Northern Tier Energy LP, has approved a first quarter distribution of $1.23 per unit that will be paid in cash on May 30, 2013 to common unit holders of record as of the close of business on May 23, 2013."
NG was +0.03 on Fri. Thanks for an informative article. I guess the price of NG will reach an equilibrium when both supply & demand stabilizes (& we get average winters).
A Fallen Apple Equals A Gift To Investors Even If Sales And Margins Decline [View article]
"Until today, I did not own a single Apple product. After today, if you count shares of Apple stock as owning its product, I am finally a proud owner."
Had a good laugh at that, and repeated it to my wife, who chuckled. Neither of us has ever owned an Apple product.
Bought my 1st shares today at 400.50 and if it drops below that tomorrow or Fri., I'll probably double up.
" Rhetorical question for anyone. Are you buying Apple today for the dividend yield or because you want the stock to get back to $600? "
I bought with the expectation (hope?) that next week they raise their dividend (substantially?).
Chesapeake Granite Wash Trust Is A Strong Buy, Part II [View article]
Thanks S man. I revisited the site at your suggestion & discovered the CHKR K-1 Graphic, which did not come with my mailed package. It shows exactly where to transfer 11F1 and 20T1. The written instructions omitted that detail. But my HRB software is not transferring the numbers so I guess I'll use OVER-RIDE.

Thanks for this excellent article and your very interesting pov.
I may have missed it (I'll go back and reread it) but aren't you assuming the drilling (and subordinated shares) end a year early? From Q3 2016 thru Q2 2017 there's another 1.61 in subordinated distributions.
Currently under water on large position, but looking forward to the next distribution...
and struggling with the CHKR K-1 and HRB software: Why don't you put lines 11F1, 13I, and 20T1 on Schedule E? Will I make a mistake if I over-ride and add? Do I call the CHKR Help number? and would they know? Do I call HRB, and would anyone answer at this late date? and would they have a clue?
Value Investors Do Not Sell In May And Go Away [View article]
"Sell in May and go away" And buy back when? Last year my PF hit bottom on June 4. Had I sold in May and waited for Labor Day to buy my stocks back, I would have missed the rally.
BP asks a federal judge to temporarily halt its ~$8.5B settlement with plaintiffs over the 2010 Gulf of Mexico spill, saying the claims administrator's decisions could give the claimants "windfalls" and that the company could be "irreparably harmed." A judge ruled March 5 that BP must keep paying some compensation in larger amounts and to more parties than the company had anticipated. [View news story]
