  • What's The Magic That Moves ARCP? [View article]
    pike,

According to the PM Rambo sent me the dude has about 15 times what you have in your portfolio, so you will need to bump up the dollar amount.

Perhaps Rambo statement about wanting to keep the stock price down, explains what appears to be some warped psychological issues.

As you know, plenty of folks have agenda's whether it is a hedge fund or an accredited high net worth investor trying to move a stocks share price.

I really can't tell whether Rambo is shooting straight or is just some grade school kid messing with folks.

If he is telling the truth about his share count then he has more shares than Nick's closest Directors according to

    http://bit.ly/1aGHcdl

I really don't have that warm fuzzy feeling about this individual and I think it's time to just leave Rambo alone to what ever agenda he or she has.

I believe 11.95 was the pivot point and I doubt, barring some new bad news, the stock will go down further.

The story that Brad provided in his link was just a regurgitation of what is already known about Nick and most folks that it would impact is already gone out of this stock.

The STREET had the following article, "Move In to Hedge Funds' 5 Favorite REITs This Summer" at this link.

    http://bit.ly/1jzHfuC

    With this statement,

"But with event risk largely shaken out of ARCP, this landlord is starting to look like an interesting, if speculative, bet. Last quarter, funds picked up a whopping 383.99 million shares of ARCP, a buy operation that amounts to 42% of this firm's outstanding shares. That's a conviction bet if ever there was one."

I'm willing to wait until the dust settles and see how many institutional types leave or arrive as owners.

    embry,

    I find it very curious that you own 150,000 shares and in your first sentence of your first comment;

"Few comments i just noticed after carefully spending time poring over the ARCP property list."

So you have 150,000 shares and you "just notice" after finally spending some time reviewing the holdings of ARCP and you are now concerned about said holdings.

I find this statement very odd for this level of supposedly accredited investor.

Now I don't know if your 150,000 shares is 5% of your overall portfolio or 50% of your overall portfolio, but as the share price goes floates up you need to off load whatever amount that does not fit in your comfort level.

Diversification of positions and attention to position sizing will go a long way to mitigate the sinking feeling you have in your gut when a stock heads south in your portfolio.

That is if you truly own and long 150,000 shares.

    Now for those who want to see the entire list of properties of the largest publicly trade net lease REIT here's the link;

    http://bit.ly/1pGCfvx

It may take a little while for the long list to load, so patience is in order.

Nothing like a up date to silence the boo birds. Looks like $11.95 was a pivot point, seeing a very short consolidation period and we will see in the next week or two, if the institutional types will push the stock higher.

    PR,

So...... joining the Russell 1000 (IWB) would not be so good, joining the likes of apple, Exxon, Johnson & Johnson, IBM, Coke and other blue chips.

I can understand why the shorts are reluctant to short ARCP.

Anyway, the next earnings report will decide who is on the right side of this trade.

    pr,

So....what is your guess as to the index ARCP will belong in after the upcoming change to fit it's increasing market cap?

Yes, we all know ARCP is now to big for the R2k and must move to a new index.

    PR,

"The short position on O is flat over the last year, on ARCP it is up 1500%. "

Provide the actual numbers to support your statement and also provide the community the growth numbers of ARCP during that same time period. Apples vs Apples, Oranges vs Oranges.

Would not want anyone in the community to think you are cherry picking stats to support your short position on ARCP.

Also, my point is the very small % of shorts in this stock, even though you are stating it went up 1500%, just means it was very miniscule short float and now has graduated to a small level of shorts.

Everyone knows that those short are betting, hoping and wishing the ARCP stock share price will go lower so they do not have to cover and lose there shirts in the process.

I would think the shorts would be climbing all over ARCP with all the bad news, but except for a few hanging around the ARCP threads, just fairly mild response when you look at other examples.

Seems to me that small group of shorts will have to cover a high yielding dividend, along with worrying how long it will take the institutional types and funds to gobble up what's left of the shares floating around.

Anyway, just curious what's going on with how the shorts are looking into this situation, perhaps they are waiting until next earnings report.

    PR,

You bring up an interesting topic concerning ARCP, which is a lack of activity by shorts. It's a little weird, the percentage of float shorts has stayed under 5% for a stock unloved by so many.

Usually, when an investor goes short, he or she is anticipating a decrease in share price.

Example: Realty Income short ratio = 14.46, ARCP Short Ratio = 1.99

So, are the major short players thinking the stock share price will rise sooner more than later.

Perhaps some of the shorts will opine as to there reason for such a low level of short action in ARCP

    grox,

Just take a look at the chart, when it became frothy I unloaded a third of a position at a time. I believe the market over reacted, bought in the this last week and willing to sit until the share price recovers again.

As for specific targeted share prices my crystal ball is not the good, but my guess is it will go higher than the 52 week high @ 39.98.

    gorgo,

You may should have waited to buy PEG at $34 or better at $32 during the next Utility sector rotation.

M* has the Fair Value Estimate @ $ 36.00 and the Consider Buying @ $25.20, but you should be okay with depreciation, until interest rates start to rise.

Anyway, you made a good decision getting out of ARCP if it does not fit your comfort level.

    darn,

I have a thought, at the following link provided by Pike in the above comment. Then click on the video and listen to the CEO explain his actions.

If you are still concerned, then sell your shares and move along to something more secure that fits your comfort level.
