  • Apple: The Pullback You Wanted [View article]
Actually, I hate taking my phone out all the time. Started to buy a "smart watch," but will wait to see what Apple is producing. I believe someone will come up with a watch that does allow you to leave your phone at home, or in your car, or at your desk during lunch hour... Probably already have invented it.

"There is nothing new in Wall Street. There can't be because speculation is as old as the hills. Whatever happens in the stock market today has happened before and will happen again."--Reminiscences of a Stock Operator

I apologize for the quote. I'm sure many of you have heard it, but I couldn't resist. The comments and article remind of me of book.

SA author, Chris DeMuth Jr., so graciously pointed this book out to this newbie and I have been absolutely fascinated by it. Written in 1923, amazing how it still applies.

Hey O.M. Just curious if you have a philosophy about taking money out of the market. For example: if you start the year with 5 dollars and you make 10 dollars in gains, do you take that 10 dollars in gains out of the market--or maybe take the original investment of 5 dollars out of the market? I know everyone does something different, but I've heard people say you should take original investment out of market, and "play" with gains.

Your opinion is greatly valued. And thank you very much for this blog.

I always find it interesting when media oulets choose to omit information that could be seen as positive or at least neutral. Makes me wonder who is buying these shares and are the two related.

  • Does China Really Have 1,000 Tons Of Gold Locked Up In Shadow Financing Deals? [View article]
Friends of mine got married last year. They are from China. They received gold as a wedding gifts (rings, necklaces, small bars, etc..) that parents and relatives had started collecting since after WWII. Many lost everything back then. Gold was the only thing they trusted for a long time.
