Bugle-The downside to inorganic growth, is the the price to acquire said growth. BBRY doesn't have a Fort Knox in cash to fuel acquisitions. As such, comparing BBRY to the likes of Berkshire is beyond laughable.

After debt obligations, BBRY has 1.2-1.3B in cash. How much did they spend over the past year or two in order to bolster their software divisions revenues? What, organically, was the software division growing separate of revenues brought in via acquisitions? These are pertinent questions.

You realize 1/8/16 was 3 months ago, right?

  • Aflac: How Long Should I Wait For Price Appreciation?  [View article]
Management's commitment to using buybacks wisely, combined with their dividend increases, and their consistent growth of EPS; keeps me in AFL. While some would prefer larger dividend increases, I think management is being more prudent with the money at this time by focusing on strategically timed buybacks.

This may be another Wall Street version of MSFT. It was "undervalued" for so long, folks thought it'd never get WS's appreciation. And then it did.

Those who've shorted BBRY have faired far, far, far better than those who were/are long BBRY.

As of today, less than 30% of BBRY's revenues come from Software. Of that lowly percentage, how much of the growth has been purchased, as opposed to organically grown? "The condition", is rough.

  • BlackBerry: Waking Up To Reality?  [View article]
Everyone is scrambling? How is that possible while the reality is, nobody is scrambling to BBRY? Since Chen took over BBRY in Nov 2013, quarterly revenue went from 1.193B to 464M.

BBRY had 1.193B quarterly revenues in Nov 2013. Chen was handed the reigns in Nov 2013.

Latest quarterly revenues were just 464M. Does BBRY actually exist today? Hard to tell. Is Chen a magician? He's certainly participated in an incredible disappearing act!

Your posting on BBRY from 2/26/2013...

"Only 1.3m Blackberry 10 units would be sufficient to push [BlackBerry] into the black" in the May quarter, estimates Bernstein's Pierre Ferragu, staying bullish on BlackBerry (BBRY +1.3%) even as many on the sell-side offer downbeat views on BB10 sales. Baird's William Power is the latest to offer such a take. "Last week virtually all reps we spoke to [in the U.K. and Canada] were unaware of inventory levels, which would seem to imply that fewer customers have been inquiring about the device." [View news story]

I think the bearish institutions (which are trying to protect their shorts) are trying to keep the price low for as long as they can hoping some bad news would come. Lots of trading on this stock, if the price goes up (above 15 or 16), there may be lots of selling for profits, ... and bearish institutions or those who shorted do not want that.

Judging by the numbers out of BBRY, not many, and dwindling to fewer and fewer every quarter.

Can BlackBerry Afford To Say 'No' To Smartphone Discounting? [View article]
I thought the discount already here. Check Costco.com, BB10 sell for $49.99 with 2 year contracts and BB10 is no 1 on most popular catergory. In my opinion , this is good for Black Berry.

csask-40% of revenues isn't insignificant. It's very, very significant. Essentially, your bull thesis today is that 70%+ of the current BBRY revenue stream will be disappearing over the next couple of years. What's BBRY worth without SAF and HW? How much future software growth will be through acquisitions, instead of organic growth? That balance sheet could be gone through in a hurry in order to attempt to fluff the software numbers with the rest of BBRY essentially, evaporating. Chen's already doing it in order to fluff those software numbers. Where's the beef?
