  • BlackBerry: Shorts Increase, Longs Wait Patiently [View article]
I have a stop loss on my shares and just received the vote proxy, so it appears that also can stop shares from being borrowed.

  • A tweet from T-Mobile U.K. stating iOS/Android BlackBerry Messenger (BBRY +1.2%) apps will arrive on June 27 is inaccurate, BlackBerry tells The Verge. The tweet has been deleted from T-Mobile U.K.'s Twitter stream. BlackBerry stated last month the apps will arrive this summer. [View news story]
This shows once again how much 'news' really isn't.

  • Blackberry (BBRY) is downgraded to Hold by Bernstein's Pierre Ferragu, who lowers his price target to $15 from $22. "We dislike the risk/reward of our BB10 trade," he writes. "With Blackberry Live behind us, we see few additional positive catalysts coming through in the next 6 months." Shares -2.3% premarket. [View news story]
Any thoughts from intelligent longs about whether shorts could pull another bear raid when earnings are announced?

  • The Fate That Awaits BlackBerry [View article]
Marcap, the story in Fortune has nothing to do with a gold plated phone - it's a Stanley Bing fable about a mythical emperor who abandons his BlackBerry for an iToy, only to find that Siri is editing his typos with disastrous results, so he goes back to the BlackBerry. 'For Business? It's the one.'

  • BlackBerry: How A Vocal Bear Stealthily Increased His Forecasts [View article]
Although unrelated to this discussion, another article to check out is in the May 20 issue of Fortune magazine. On page 352 there's a cute article titled 'The Emperor's BlackBerry', and it's the most fantastic PR that $BBRY could ever hope to have. There should be some way the company could utilize it - even as an ad printed the same as in Fortune!

  • Has BlackBerry's Smartphone Business Gotten Dumb? [View article]
As has been said before by others, a double-digit share of the market is not necessary for BlackBerry to be successful. It can be a very profitable niche player a la BMW, Rolls Royce and Maserati.

  • Now Is The Time To Buy BlackBerry [View article]
Yes, it may very well drop after the earnings report, but in the U.S. short term gains are taxed at approximately double (depends on income) the long term (over a year) rate, so selling and buying back a few points lower doesn't pay. Investors wanting to profit from the long term potential of this stock are advised to just sit back and relax rather than worrying about when to get out and when to get back in again.
