Google's Downfall: Search Engine Optimization

SEO is hardly all snake oil. Some is quite legit. I just installed a plugin on my blog that puts the title of the post first, then the blog name, as the page title (rather than the default, which is the other way around.)

My hits are up about 15% in a week. The better page title gives search engines more legit and useful info on which to index.

The best way to get high ranking is by having quality content.

Is the Long Commute Still Worth It?

There is no mass transit from Temecula to San Diego and little chance of there being any in the foreseeable future.

(Just moved to the Bay Area and finally live in an area with great mass transit. What a difference it makes!)

If Microsoft Buys Yahoo, It Should Spin It Off With MSN

After using both for years, I've migrated to Google. Email, News, Calendar, Reader, etc. all in one place. Yahoo is still better for finance, but that could change too.

PS You can forward Yahoo mail to GMail and read it there. I do this with all my email accounts now.
