Well put. But there's more- if the writer can be so incredibly wrong on his assessment of Apple's business based on a misguided personal opinion of their product, how do we take anything he says seriously? Really! Bank isn't missing the ballpark with his predictions for AAPL, he doesn't even know what city he is in!

      Hmmm... Thomas Hawk.

I have to remember that name so that I can avoid any more Apple articles he may write. His distain for Apple is only exceeded by his ignorance of the products they make and the market that loves them. I can't believe he even repeated previous remark that proves what an idiot he is.. "I think iTunes sucks".

Hmmm... Thomas Hawk, isn't he the idiot that hates Apple?

I agree with awcabot, Apple is just at the beginning of a growth curve, not at the end of one. Your chart misses a huge metric that the consensus estimates have not accounted for- market share for the Mac. The ipod & iphone make the news, the mac makes the money. With the highest price tag and margins, this is where Apple makes most of it's profits. WIth the help of the ipod & iphone, the Mac has now been "discovered" by the mass media and general public. Apple is looking at over 40% growth in market share for the Mac vs 2006. Earnings for 2008 will be staggering. The only adjustments to your chart in 2008 will be up! Jan 06 11:29 AM

I read this article after wrestling with Microsoft network issues for the last two days. I was drawn in by the "Windows-like&quo... comparison. After reading the article all I can say is- you've got to be kidding me. It's like comparing a bruise you got when you fell off you training-wheeled bike to a train wreck!
