  • More on Nokia: analyst reactions, brand licensing, mobile growth [View news story]
I was wondering where that leaked HERE "stealth" product is. A /navigation/health/fit... device. Possibly bendable. It should act as a catalyst up.

  • Nokia: The $8 Barrier Should Be Breached Soon [View article]
I'm really starting to wonder about this stock. Its market psychology and its reputation on the stock market. Whatever news the stock-price goes down. This recent news includes a solid plan and promises good revenue in the future. The stock still remained flat or declining.

I think the stock is worth $8.50 now and a little bit more by the end of the year (if things develop as i believe). Alas not so it seems.

  • Nokia: Finding $0.40-3.70 Upside In The Black Box [View article]
If that's it, there would be nice upside if it's pierced. I hope it's psychological as you say.

  • Nokia: 50 Million Windows Phone Sales Possible For 2014 [View article]
Is the stock really up on this? Didn't Nokia sell devices? Isn't phones Microsoft's business now? This makes it difficult for me to invest — seriously!

Just recently there was lots of talk how the stock market is manipulated.

  • Will The Decline Of Nokia Continue? [View article]
I'm basically long too, but I have guessed wrong on the volatility...

You are right that anything might happen. In particular I'm waiting for the sell of D&S to Microsoft to become final. I expect a big jump.

Secondly I 'm waiting for the announcement of a new strategy and a new CEO. This has been promised to happen about ... now. Heard so at the Extraordinary Shareholder Meeting.

  • Nokia: 3 Different Insiders Have Sold Shares Since November 25 [View article]
Microsoft owns at least the Lumia and Asha brands, their production, design, distribution, sales and marketing teams. Microsoft did not gain the ownership to Nokia patents. Microsoft got everything in the D&S division. So I don't see how Nokia could have the right to make phones.

    Press release: http://nokia.ly/1cAqHRd
    Says:
"Microsoft has agreed to a 10 year license arrangement with Nokia to use the Nokia brand on current Mobile Phones products. Nokia will continue to own and maintain the Nokia brand. Under the terms of the transaction, Microsoft has agreed to a 10 year license arrangement with Nokia to use the Nokia brand on current and subsequently developed products based on the Series 30 and Series 40 operating systems. Upon the closing of the transaction, Nokia would be restricted from licensing the Nokia brand for use in connection with mobile device sales for 30 months and from using the Nokia brand on Nokia's own mobile devices until December 31, 2015."

This call that Nokia could make phones using another brand name is really oddball. From a more practical point of view why should Nokia? Wait two years instead!

  • Nokia And The Graphene Opportunity [View article]

So we are saying the same thing? One could say that Nokia is not into nanotech but into graphene.

There is a tendency by the press to blur the difference. Some graphene applications are referred to as nanotech. In particular one those that are materials technology, not electronics. Even if graphene as a material mostly has nothing to do with nanoscale structures. Nanotubes being an exeption. To add to the confusion silicon and graphene in electronics does have nanoscale structures. But you wouldn't call silicon digital electronics nanotechnology, would you?

Are you really sure Nokia X is not a Microsoft phone now? I think it's not Nokia after the Microsoft deal is finished.

There is a distinction between nanotech and graphene. Not all nanotech is graphene and I think the name "nano" is misused on some (non-electronics) graphene applications.

Graphene electronics is not nanotech. This is the field which is Nokia's opportunity. 30 times faster conductivity and smaller capacitance than silicon lead to hugely faster circuits. Add to that transparent, flexible and stretchable electronics.

Absolutely we need more information. Not to mention some proof!

However we speculate, that has a value too. I'm thinking in particular of three things. Nokia's design patent US 20120078999 A1 on a smartwatch — Apparatus with elastically transformable body. The leak that a smartwatch is coming out in 2H2014. (Yes, I know. The leak was weak). Nokia's other patents on Deformable apparatus and manufacturing method of graphene.

You say i speculate and that is true, but it's possible a smartwatch corresponding to the design patent can already be made. Reading graphene patents I don't believe it is very far i the future. However I'm aware that so called design patents are thirteen on a dozen.
