Your article is just a mishmash of odds and ends. I too have published in this area and there are no identifiable criterion. The reason is that each board has its own agenda and when talent and agenda meet the board is able usually to cope. The old saws still seem to hold, a subject matter specialty, desire to serve, honesty, and independence. Sitting a board also takes time and inquisitiveness. This is a subject each Chairman must deal with and should publish his/her justification for each member's being on the Board.
