    OK, so now that all the Appletonians have a platform to store their i-tunesit's time to hear from the "dark side." I just bought a new HP lap top with Vista Home Premium. I paid about $500 less than the comparable Apple lap top. I like Vista...haven't had any problems with it. I will give you this Apples products really look cool, but if you need to get your work done...there's no way it's worth the price premium it commands. I DO own Apple stock...just don't own their computers.

    From the very beginning Dell has never been more than another "clone" manufacturer (like Acer, Gateway, etc) with a "Build-to-order" (BTO) business model that differentiated them. In the 90's that model added value to plain old vanilla product distribution. Well now that the business has matured to the point that BTO no longer adds value (IT Mgrs would rather handle their own imaging, etc. Unless Dell comes up with something LIKE an i-Pod (not necessarily an i-Pod competitor) they are doomed to become just another company chasing the "best-of-breed" ie HP/IBM. Hey ... maybe they need to bring back the "Dude, you're getting a Dell" guy.

    The victims in this crime (yes, it's a crime!) are those who relied on this information to make investment decisions. IRA's, 401K's and countless investment accounts bear the consequences of these criminals actions. AFTER they are fired...they need to spend some time in jail. Otherwise we'll end up with more Worldcoms, Enrons, Adelphias, etc, etc....

    Where is the SEC in all this. Who are THEY looking out for...certainly not us!

    Doesn't the market value "pricing power?" EBay's ability to command a higher price for their service resulted in 50% grwth in profit and 30% grwth in revenue. Lots of company's would love to have that......

    VZ has the ugliest chart on the board. Just exactly WHAT are we waiting for to stimulate this stock? They report earnings July 30th. I'm holding my position through their announcement but I'm very nervous about it.

    Witholding my Boo-Yah until after earnings....
