    Short aapl now? Sounds like ChartProphet might have trouble walking and chewing gum simultaneously. Might initiate a short position in next 72 hours? Go for it! I love squeezes.

  • Are Apple Investors Being Shortchanged? [View article]
    @rubicon

    "It signals to investors that they may not likely to ever see that cash...so it likely hurts valuatin a lot, becauze, speculation aside, the fundamental value of a business is basednon distribution of shareholder earnings."

    Extremely questionable, overbroad assertions. No serious aapl investors I know think it signals any such thing. And, while it might be accurate to say that fundamental value is based on the "ability" to generate income and distribute corporate (not shareholder) earnings, even in that case there are exceptions.

  • Are Apple Investors Being Shortchanged? [View article]
    @rubicon

    The specific examples cited by Smith are not only irrelevant but dumb. His overall premise really is NOT about an arguable impact on investors' total return on investment, but that "accumulation" policies make an aapl investment similar to one with Stanford in that investors will never see their "share" of the profits (or return of original). That's a silly/dumb/ridiculous/all of the preceding comparison as anyone who has owned aapl for the past several years will be more than happy to tell Smith. He really can't be that stupid and still be capable of breathing so, IMO, probably is carrying water for someone.

    WTF? Is that tongue in cheek? Your past comments here suggest you understand aapl. Here's one:

    "A real stress test for Apple would be to make a price cut to the iPhone (70+% of profits) and see what happens to revemue and earnings...this is probably the most realistic stress scenario for the company.
    Having done this, my conclusion is that Apple simply goes crom a currently -ridiculous undervaluation to strong underaluation..."

    That view--that aapl is seriously undervalued-- is hardly consistent with Smith's silly assertions.

  • 6 Must Own Tech Stocks for 2011 [View article]
    "However, I am not going around school posting advertisements for classes that I am not familiar with, which is what you guys are collectively assuming the author to do. "

    Assuming? No assumption is necessary. By the financial data given, the author clearly knows nothing about aapl. Anyone who follows aapl knows that info is laughable.

    [BTW, in your profile you state : "I have only had a limited exposure to the market, so I seek to learn." The point of the above comments about Vatalyst (mine, at least) is that the author has not bothered to learn before offering opinions]

    I dont think there's a better company out there. I also don't think Vatalyst knows anything about it. Might as well get investment advice from a cab driver or bar tender.

    On what date did aapl last trade at $70, thereby defining the exact period for cash, revenue and growth? $25B cash during last year? $65B revenue during same period? Your aapl facts are so flawed as to be embarrassing. If you can't get the simple things right, makes the rest of the article not even worth reading.

  • Apple Will Be the Most Valuable Stock in the World by 2012 [View article]
    People have been writing the same silly things about aapl for the past 6+ years. It's an extremely narrow, myopic view, to say the least, and it completely fails to take into account where we are in the wireless revolution. However, it just might qualify someone for a job at RIM.

  • Zaky's 2011 iPhone Sales Estimates [View article]
    You originally posted:

    "However, if the launch is in early September and Apple gets a full month of iPhone 4S / iPhone 5 sales in Q4, iPhone sales could come in as high as 18 million units. It all depends on when the device is announced and when it begins to go on sale.
    Yet, I'm tentatively expecting iPhone sales to come in at about 16 million units in a Q4 that assumes a September launch for the device."

    How is the iPhone sales beat for Q3 impacting your iPhone forecast for Q4?

  • Why I'm Selling Apple [View article]
    This post reply needs to be repeated since it addresses "why" the article might have been written in the first place:

    " Henry 3 DoggComments (498)
    My point is, an I'm sure you understand, that no rational person can make that list of comments, over the last couple of months, and then today come up with the comment

    "For all intents and purposes, it's over for Apple."

    Thats not a trader moving on to a new play area. Its a damnation of a stock from a long term investment perspective as well.

    To make that comment, following from the pervious quotes, when most of what comes between is the launch of the iPad 2, requires either mental instability, or another agenda. I have no strong view as to which."
