    RE: "... They (Apple) want to make sure only quality stuff gets into their service. ..."

    ======================
    "Quality" for Apple also means no trojans, viruses, worms, nor anything else that can affect a communication network or user experience.

    Google, YouTube, and Vimeo were NOT concerned about these possibilities (qualities).

    RE: "... How many more iPhones can AAPL sell, before the market is saturated? ..."

    Billions.

    The iPhone is a "netbook" with a phone that fits in your pocket. The iPhone connects via Wi-Fi and cell networks, which is better than netbooks, because Wi-Fi only on netbooks is still has scarce connectivity points.

    The iPhone is the new information "computer" for the world's entire population, which at last count is over 6.6 billion people.

  • Why I'm Selling Apple and Google Today - and Holding Amazon [View article]
    RE: "...I love what Bezos is doing with that company and I think Amazon is going to come out of this downturn stronger than ever...."

    And, what if Bezos steps in front of a bus, or is in an automobile, plane, train, etc. accident? Are you then going to sell AMZN because its leader died?

    AMZN, AAPL, and GOOG are more than just their current leaders. Each has tens of thousands of employees. I doubt that the leader of each of these companies does EVERYTHING.

    These well run companies may have a godhead, however, there are many excellent executives and employees at each of these companies that can continue with the corporate road map.

    RE: "I included a column called "leverage", which is Assets divided by Equity. The higher that ratio, the more obligations or liabilities the company has."

    =====================
    Your concept of "leverage" is distorted. Apple has $25 BILLION in cash and $ZERO debt. How can it, in fact, be "leveraged"?

  • Buy, Sell or Hold: Apple's Cohesive Strategy to Survive and Thrive [View article]
    RE: "... the very steep Mac premium pricing ..."

    This statement is incorrect, and now belongs in the garbage bin of urban myths.

    It has been shown by independent PC organizations, and published in PC computer magazines, that there is virtually NO Mac premium pricing.

    When equal hardware and features are compared between PCs and Macs, the Mac is similar in price to the PC and, in some instances, the Mac is even LOWER in price. Any manufacturer can leave out hardware on a PC and then claim to be lower in price, but, in this case, the PC is also lower in capability and the end user gets cheated, because the lower price did NOT show the features that were left out on the PC.

    And, this does not include the benefits of the Mac operating system, ease of use due to the Mac GUI, reduced Mac maintenance, upkeep, and overhead.

    On a total cost basis, acquisition charges plus upkeep and maintenance, Macs, in general, are the ABSOLUTE LOWEST COST to an individual and an organization.

    In addition, the look and feel of QUALITY pervades the Mac product line.

  • Apple, Google, Research In Motion Dominate the Nasdaq 100 [View article]
    Apple is the new GE!

    Apple is #1 in profitability in each of its businesses.

    The 3G iPhone is coming, the Mac is moving into the enterprise, the iPod touch is raising the ASP (Average Selling Price) of the iPod family, and Apple TV, an Apple "hobby," is setting new standards in family video.

  • Apple's AT&T Deal Is Costly [View article]
    You overlooked the importance of signing exclusively with AT&T and the official European networks: Apple required these companies to make unlimited data available at a new, low price. THIS is a revolutionary price approach for consumers to access large amount of network DATA as opposed to just voice minute plans.

    Also, you were very late sell Apple calls. On Dec 28, 2007, the July 280 calls closed at 6.6 bid.

    Also, if you REALLY believed Apple was overpriced at $165 in January, you should have sold the 170 Apple calls at a closing bid of $21.25 on Wednesday, Jan 16, 2008, instead of receiving ONLY $1.89 for the 280 calls. You would have earned 10 times more!
