this comment is more of my speculation:

" I wonder how long the Chinese government will drag their feet in making all the decisions regarding grid connectivity. "

Until Chinese companies figure out and have resources to do it on a grand/larger scale.. Most probably it may be happening at miniature level with other players and Chinese large OEMs as an observer or joint partner but materially not significant to report separately on the books. Look at downstream installation business, it started showing recently but am positive it didn't just start recently.. How big it'll be in emerging economies. As it has taken off, they started reporting it separately.. With cheaper labor they'll have better margins... Earlier it was being done by a company which was acquired by solar city. So this is fast follower move...

YGE will be eventual winner from China solar stocks... Debt is a concern and when I look at the small step they took last quarter, they'll accelerate paying down debt and stock will rise... I think there will be 3-4 companies left overall which most probably are FSLR (US), CSIQ (Canadian), Japanese,, YGE (chinese) and may be one more..
If demand keeps increasing and overall market grows all of them will rise over next decade.GM, Tesla were supported by US govt at one point and there are companies worldwide supported by their respective governments (EADS, Sinopec, Petrobras, lenovo, etc), Such companies don't go bankrupt because internal and external demand is kept to a point that they deliver on all goals long term (employee, national pride, shareholder values, market domination, etc, etc).

  • Are The Bears Backing Off These 3 Highly Shorted Small Cap Tech Stocks? [View article]
Any idea or commentary about why RATE is trending lower after their quarterly reporting?

Conference call showed that their management is focussed on the longer term payoff. Further, they have kept the guidance same for rest of the year. Is this trend more about show me another quarter of beat the expectations and then RATE is a turnaround play? or has there been any new analyst report discussing RATE

  • Mindray and China Medical Worth Considering [View article]
I invested in because on paper and corporate analysis, this looks to be
Huawei of Computer Networking and CNOOC of Oil sector....

In the end its execution and price pressure across the industry...

CNOOC took 7 years to play out and Huawei started gaining momentum in last 3 years....

Can you analyze CGR? I think they are also in same boat as RNO was last year and have mines coming up in second half of 2007 and 2008.
    Thanks,
