Syntax-Brillian: The Future Looks Crystal Clear [View article]
I am impressed with and still waiting for their 7-series to come out. However, as impressed as you are with your purchase, you don't seem to know what you've bought!
"I purchased the 37” LCD 537H 780p model with ATSC/NTSC tuner and I am very impressed with the quality sound and crystal clear picture. This model has a price range of ($680-$900), which is an incredible bargain. I have since purchased shares of this stock and I am long."
First of all, you have HDTVs in 720p or 1080p - you seem to have purchased the only hybrid version of these two receivers. Good luck to you.
Second of all, don't confuse a company with its stock! You will be very disappointed with that kind of investment decision-making!

The firm believes both assertions are "way, way off".
Then maybe "the firm" (CIBC) should consider that the real reasons for the selloff are not known to them yet - and that their own assumptions for the price fall are "way, way off!"
Syntax-Brillian: The Bears' Latest Folly? [View article]
Since my first post here, I've seen a lot of emotion due to lack of due diligence - and nothing else. So, here are some thoughts as a follow-up. First of all, I don't see anything in Sandy Sanmina's comments (deleted above) that many of the posts here haven't already portrayed - and were not deleted. Second of all, none of you paid for this service so you should be making your own judgments about stocks based on your own due diligence. In all fairness, Mark has no liability for your investment performance - none whatsoever. I found the article thought provoking and that's why I challenged it. I make a living from trading. Third of all, I think the 7-series from BRLC is going to be a huge hit, regardless of the retail distribution chosen. It is aimed at the knowledgeable video consumer at a far lower price than current offerings with such features. I will go to Home Depot to buy it if I have to because it is in a category where the consumer already understands why it will blow away other manufacturers' offerings. This is a bit different from previous BRLC sales strategies and I think it will work just fine. Fourth of all, all that said, never confuse a company with its stock. Too many invest on this premise and it is simply wrong. Willy

Mark, You state "Olevia latest and very impressive SKU’s are generating higher ASP/Margins; the 42” 742i, 47” 747i and the 65” LCOS have already started selling on line at select sites to include best buy business on line with the 42” 742i for $2,391.16 higher priced then some sites, but given the speed they sell out, and some sites asking over $3,000.00, I don’t blame them."
While I am awaiting the arrival of the "7 Series" with great anticipation, Syntax has not sold ONE SINGLE Olevia 742i yet! That's due to delays besieging them since the beginning of the year - in their own words - "We are now looking at May for our engineering unit to arrive for evaluation. If all goes well, we should see the 742i out in the marketplace in late June."
The basis for your conclusions prompt me to join the bears! So if there are any good reasons for the short squeeze, this one does not compute. Regards, Willy
