Please stay focused on the issue. No one wants to or needs to know your portfolio status. Thanks.

This is some side topic maybe. Once I talked with a friend about stock, I happened to point couple bad calls he made a while ago. To my surprise, he just got personal and started defending himself. He tried hard to pull out other calls he made that seemed to be "good" (within certain time frame, I will say) and then he started finger pointing me saying he is worried about me, stock is for me, blah blah. I didn't get it --- What's his business whether stock is for me or not ? Stock may not for me or someone else, but that has nothing to do with what I talked about.

Is it a common thing for these people whose ego just play big role ??

blejsmith, just think about this --- what kind trading mentality would force a person to desperately sell AAPL in 2009 ? That shows he didn't have confidence and good prediction for even near future (12 months or so). What kind of mentality would tell a person to give up AAPL at $350 level and miss a 100% return within less than 2 years ? That tells he didn't have clear understanding of the company and just followed the fear of herd. What kind of mentality to tell this person to refuse to admit his mistake ? That tells he can't think rational and his ego plays bigger role.

So, why do you care what he is saying ?

You really dont have t write so much. Could you just answer some simple questions ---

"Is it a wise decision to not buy AAPL after Steve JObs passed away ?"

Also, you really dont need to worry about any other's future (that really sounds funny to me), or suggest anybody how to become a better investor (that sounds funny too). That doesn't help raise your credibility.

Author, somehow I feel you are an emotional investor. You sold AAPL in 2009 at ridiculously low price because you were UNABLE to predict a bull market was right coming to you. Since then you felt pretty bad seeing AAPL kept breaking your mental tolerance threshold one after another, in hundreds of your previous comments about AAPL, you always said like "maybe AAPL will break $700, $800 but so what ? when next recession comes it has zero support at $500, $400, full support at $200..." I don't see any value of talking such universally applicable rule in this forum. When recession comes no one can get away. So you shouldn't need to write anything from 2009 until next recession comes..

Now you talk about entry point for AAPL ? I thought in last November you claimed you would never buy AAPL since Steve passed away.

The first of first step to remove emotion in investment is to admit a person's previous investment mistake, unconditionally.

10 years ? Never talk about a tech company in ten years. Did you know how Microsoft would look like when it was in 1998 ?

People like Andy Zaky are usually either extremely optimistic or extremely pessimistic, they are not rational and tend to go extreme end. When AAPL booms to $700 they saw $1500 is two years goal. When it dropped to $390 they completely lost confidence and claimed AAPL is dead. I have seen many such analysts, they can't tell when overheating is happening and crisis or big correction is in the cards. Similarly they can't see the good future when it bottoms out.

Exactly. Why such cheer leaders did NOT come out to say it worth $130 (or $910 pre split) one year ago when it was $390 ? Why not 5 months ago when it was $500 ? Fear and no confidence. They were not confident and they were not able to see the future price. Real good analyst should be the one who dares to throw $660 when it was $390 12 months ago.

When everyone comes out to tell you the stock is going to boom into sky, you have to be careful because these calls are cheap and easy. And when it sounds too easy, it usually isn't that easy.

@ratnamsub. you are fundamentally wrong. In USA there is no loyalty between an employee and employer. it is at will employment. Your employer can let you go tomorrow without any cause and you can leave tomorrow without cause. What's the loyalty you talk about ?

@Bareburn, I don't think there is any proven data showing Apple users have higher than average IQ. Where did you get the data ?
