Demographically, I'm a typical Ph.D. student.

23 years old

Single (never been on a date, in fact) with no kids

Renting, as is everyone I know who isn't at least 10 years older than me

However, I live on far less than my salary. As a result, I've been able to save up a nest egg which I'm now interested in investing.
