    It's not an apples to apples comparison, but Vanguard's Equity-Income mutual fund has a similar total return over a long period. Beats VIG over 10 years.

    CEFs are typically issued with a built-in premium. Then, the price is usually supported for a while by the underwriter. So, unless you're real sure this stock is going to skyrocket, better to wait until it finds its market price.

    A regression Rsquared of .15 would usually be interpreted as meaning the regression is not statistically significant. In other words, there is no correlation.

    I'm not an accountant but, the annual report makes me think that more than half of the NAV is unrealized capital gain. The tax consequences of this might help to explain the persistent discount.
