  • eBay: A Stock Worth Investing [View article]
i don't think so. they are not like the credit card companies. it is only a tool of money transfer between credit card companies. they don't lend money or give credit, therefor, there is no "play".

  • Did eBay's Revenue Growth Foreshadow An End To Amazon's Growth Decline? [View article]
ok, it did trail back after the others at first. but for me, it just means that they are the right company to invest in. first, because if they didn't leap like others, they're most likely to do so, so it will be good to catch it before they do. secondly, they are still growing, not because they are the best, but because the online shopping customers worldwide are still only about 7%. so any company that sells worldwide will grow for the next 3-4 years at least. so for the long run, you won't loose any money. but if you put your money on Amazon, there is that small chance of loosing, because everybody have them already...

just do the research yourself. try a few product and change the shipping address, see for yourself.
p.s. i will not call you dumb, 'cause i'm perfectly happy with the size of my penis (hint).

  • Did eBay's Revenue Growth Foreshadow An End To Amazon's Growth Decline? [View article]
as i see it, amazon will stop growing because it is not friendly for the international buyers. the shipping coasts are very high if you are from Europe or the middle east. if you look at the buyers diversity on Ebay or Alibaba, you will find many of them are from Russia and the mid-east.
the american people discovered the online shopping experience far before the rest of the world did, so the amount of shoppers on Amazon will grow a lot slower than Ebay.
now please don't start with what the sellers prefer. sellers will go where the buyers are at.

  • 1B people will be using Android (GOOG) phones within 6-9 months, and 2B within a year or two as sub-$100 devices arrive, promises Eric Schmidt; there are currently 750M Android phones in use, and 1.5M device activations/day (up from 1.3M/day in September). Schmidt also promises upcoming Motorola phones (previous) will be "very, very impressive," but provides no details. Officially at least, Schmidt considers Facebook Home (FB) "fantastic," due to how it demonstrates Android's openness, and says Google won't try to ban it. [View news story]
Apple and such should learn from Google.
competition only drive them forward to innovate and compete, instead of going to court and bash....
when i choose a product, i don't expect it to be the only one in the market, i expect it to be the best one among others !

  • eBay (EBAY +1.4%) is eliminating listing fees for most items and simplifying its commission fees, as it tries to sustain Marketplaces' resurgence and slow down Amazon's (AMZN -1.2%) rapid 3rd-party sales growth. Lower-margin items such as electronics will sport lower fee rates than higher-margin items such as clothing. eBay claims the moves, its first fee changes since 2010, will provide more transparency for merchants, who have complained of overly complicated pricing. Yesterday, Reuters reported of discontent among Amazon merchants over rising fees. [View news story]
i think you made the right move (now). i bought Ebay a couple of months ago, when it was 50.5, got gready and didn't sell at 58.
now bought some more, and my sell target is 57.
what people don't understand is that sellers will go where the buyers are-not the opposite !
the online shopping is becoming very global. people from other countries (just like me and all my friends) will keep using Ebay, because the shipping costs are too big on Amazon. Paypal will still be widely used because BUYERS loves it, it's the most comfortable way for them to pay online, even most sites in Israel are using them as an option now.
don't look where the sellers are, look where the buyers are. and for the next couple of years- they are on Ebay and will defiantly pay with PayPal.

  • Caveat Emptor - 3 Reasons To Be Scared Of eBay [View article]
you guys are mentioning one problem: high seller fees.
you think they really can't fix that if they'll see that they're loosing money. this "problem" takes 1-2 days to fix....
if they haven't done this yet, then you can be sure they are in a good shape.

  • Google's 'Project Glass': An Over-Hyped Hobby [View article]
apple demands only go down with time. you are correct about the supply chain efficiencies. but lets look at it another way, they can't be more efficient, will probably sell less and less phones, so they will only make less money.
the Google glass is a done project, they have already paid for all the expenditure to release it, so even if they sell only a couple of thousands, they will not loos money.
i wouldn't bet on Samsung beating Google....just doesn't sound realistic.
and the whole "virus" thing you said about Android....it's also true to say about Pc vs Mac, and still Pc's were always more popular.

  • Caveat Emptor - 3 Reasons To Be Scared Of eBay [View article]
there is one reason that you're wrong:
currently, only about 5% of the purchases are made online. this number can only grow, and grow exponentially it will :-)
some of that pie will go to Ebay, even a bigger slice to PayPal. so i think that for the next 2 years, it's a good invesment (until there will be big and more user friendly competitors, and the 5% online sales will stable at about 25%).

  • Google's 'Project Glass': An Over-Hyped Hobby [View article]
you are all forgetting one important thing:
    GOOGLE IS NOT APPLE.
they do not base their sole existence on 2-3 products.
lets say the Glass will fail completely...
    they still have:
Google search- the best search engine.
Google Chrome- best (private use) browser.
Android- now the most common of all smartphone OS.
Google docs, Now and Calender- very solid use products.
    They will SOON have:
Google X-Phone- will probably be the best Android phone.
Google Express- will probably beat Ebay and Amazon in 1-2 years.
Google (no-name)- going to provide free way of communication.
and the new chain of Google stores.
So far, GOOG were the ones either setting the trend, or leading the trend....and they don't intend to stop !
