    I agree Deep.

The fact is that Holder (Fed Govt) isn't going to make a drastic move overnight. By backing off of incarcerating people for small drug possession and bringing up the use of treatment centers I think it's a first step towards doing something like Portugal has done.

So while not earth-shattering, I still think it was a very important statement and a welcome change indeed!

    Excellent!

I watched another interview with Gupta today and he said the documentary primarily focuses on medical marijuana, which he repeated several times. Can't wait to watch it, should be interesting.

Again thanks Alan for the continual analysis!

While I'm excited about the Gupta development and potentially a little something positive from Holder, I'm still looking well into 2014 and beyond. This "news" pop wont' last if MJNA doesn't get its act together as Alan has reported.

The greatest thing about Gupta's influence is the emphasis on CBD and it's tremendous medical benefits. This puts THC legalization stuff aside and focuses on what I think is MJNA's strength, it's head start in high content CBD products.

From all the different reports and videos I've watched I think the greatest impact will come from people dealing with epileptic seizures. We'll see what other medical conditions Gupta emphasizes in his documentary. This is going to be a very interesting week for sure!

Very nice statement! Again, if MJNA could come out with an "honest" Q2, clean up the fuzzy math and come out with reasonable projections, the future could be very bright.

This whole CBD thing is kind of an end around in the MJ market. It's pot that is already legal and seems to have massive benefits, especially with things like seizures. Who cares when/if marijuana legalization comes about? And the bonus, any positive news about Cannabis in any form drives this stock!!

Here's a nice bone to chew on: The Epilepsy Foundation's website states that 2.2 million Americans suffer from epileptic seizures, 900,000 are kids for which there's no great treatment. On top of that they state there's 65 million world wide. Could CBD be the answer? Maybe!

The future could be amazing for MJNA IMO if the cards are played right!!!

Hopefully it clears up some of the stuff you've been concerned about. As I've said previously you've convinced me your reporting is accurate and more importantly honest. So any positive shift in your viewpoint will weigh heavily with me. BTW, I've been following you on IHub and continue to sense you'd love to support this company if they can turn things around.

Concerning News: The Gupta CNN documentary should get lots of buzz IMO. The Feds on the otherhand, well who knows. My guess is they will disappoint but I would love to be wrong on that one.

Not bragging at all, just responding to my favorite contrarian indicator!

Today is a good example of what I've been saying Alan, News Driven! Nothing at all change fundamentally.

So what's the bigger news next week, the Feds or MJNA Q2 results??

  • Marijuana Stocks And Legalization - The Complex Relationship [View article]
Well thanks for the social studies lesson. Maybe I've been unclear about the reasoning behind my comments?

I'm not disagreeing with your points. What I'm saying is there is a lot of in-your-face stuff going on in the midst of Federal Prohibition and International Treaties.

Take all the comments you made to me and send them to Governor Hickenlooper from CO and ask him why he doesn't understand that signing a bill into state law allowing recreational marijuana use and sales is Federally illegal? That's my point. Why doesn't Colorado seem to care??

Another point (and I tried to convey this to Managing) is my investment in MJNA has as much or more to do with CBD related products as THC. And so the whole Federal Prohibition thing is moot from that aspect.

You quoted managing: "So like Managing said don't tread water hoping to stay afloat - basically don't get any deeper than you can wade right now because it is empowering when one retains the ability to be able to walk away (with relation to these stocks)." I appreciate the concern and the advice. The statement is true for all investments, not just pot stocks.

Finally I really enjoyed your article AND AGREE so don't misconstrue my intentions. Your focus on the legal aspects was a nice read (compared to the constant discussion on the viability of MJNA) and applies to all pot related stocks. Would like to see you do an update, maybe sometime in 2014 after the whole CO recreational thing gets going (or gets stopped).

In layman's terms could you explain how PhytoSPHERE plays out between CANV and MJNA if your suspicions are correct?

Managing I think your comments are heavily weighted towards THC? What's your opinion on CBD's future?

Also (IMHO) it may not take "legislative action" but merely a strong signal that CO and WA along with all the medical MJ states won't be harassed. If the lab rats are allowed to not only survive but grow I think the water in the harbor will be deep and filled with investors swimming to prosperity.

And, I don't think Americans give a crap about UN treaties over something like this. It's much more of a headache for the DEA than it is for the average citizen. The polls are overwhelmingly in favor of stopping all the ridiculous spending on the drug war even with federal laws still prohibiting MJ.

IIS this is not meant to be a rebuttle of your points, just saying:

    1. Marijuana is federally illegal.... and more plentiful than ever!

    2. Federal law supersedes state law....seems the states don't care and without the states cooperation the Fed doesn't have the resources to fight the battle alone.

A B & C. Change the UN Treaties....with CO and WA going recreational the US has a lot of egg on their face saying do as we say not as we do. Countries like Portugal are trying a different approach (and having success) and folks like former Mexican president Vicente Fox are calling for similar action sooner rather than later to stop the cartel's bloodshed of so many young people.

Politicians will listen to voters and support is growing daily for medical and recreational use. Support to at least "end the War on Drugs" is overwhelmingly positive. With that said I realize this will still take years and not months to happen.

Finally a huge discussion is building in favor of CBD (Cannabidiol) use for health and sickness reasons so the "Getting High on THC" part of the story is not the whole story by any stretch. CBD doesn't have the legal ramifications and comes from Hemp which may be way easier to get legal (once again) with all the industrial uses etc. Heavy hitters in Congress like Mitch McConnel and Rand Paul are pushing hemp farming bills.

My practice is not to advise anyone on what/who to invest in. Just don't believe I'm qualified to give investment advice.

With that said I've been long MJNA since January and also have positions in PHOT and CBIS.

Maybenot; It still remains to be seen and until they come out with an official statement, like from Eric Holder, folks in the business remain skeptical.

But as you pointed out, who would've imagined we'd hear such positive news. I've made quite a few comments about why the Feds haven't spoken out officially against CO and WA with not too much response. I think it's very very positive.

Full blown recreational is starting in CO in just five months and only silence (except for some raids) from the feds. Go figure?
