Las Vegas Sands: The Stock Will Continue To Fly [View article]
TFCAB, you think there are too many options holders waiting to cash in on LVS? I really don't see why it's not above 60. This stock is constantly lagging this market.
Nomura increases its estimate for 2013 Macau gaming revenue to 15% growth from a previous forecast calling for a 13% gain. Estimates for the calendar year from investment firms carry a little more weight now with the revenue haul from Golden Week and the Chinese New Year factored in more accurately. The revised forecast is positive for Macau-sensitive stocks such as Melco Crown (MPEL), Las Vegas Sands (LVS), MGM Resorts (MGM), and Wynn Resorts (WYNN). [View news story]
Las Vegas Sands (LVS +2%) gets a lift from BofA analyst Shaun Kelley who says the company's Asian real estate holdings are worth $5-7 per share in a spinoff. Kelley also claims LVS is under levered, could afford to double its debt, and may be worth $82 per share. (See also: Nomura ups targets on gaming stocks) [View news story]
i'm ready for this rocket to take off. now that they've settle with Suen, lets get past 60 and we are off to the races.
Apple (AAPL +1.3%) roundup: 1) Moody's estimates Apple's debt offering will save the company $9.2B in tax payments that would have to be made if offshore cash was used to finance planned buybacks. 2) TSMC (TSM -0.3%) will reportedly manufacture the app processor for an iPhone due in 2H14 (the iPhone 6?), but Samsung will manufacture the iPhone 5S' processor (previous). 3) Apple has filed patent applications for curved battery designs - could they be used in more flexible iOS hardware? 4) Regional carrier U.S. Cellular (USM -2.9%) plans to finally sell the iPhone. Well said roc! All the other bears are pretty quiet as well. Buy back seems to really eliminate the volatility on aapl.

Why is LVS lagging all the gaming stocks and the market? It's hard to be patient when market is making all time highs and LVS is stuck in this range. Lets see 60 LVS!

I can see some profit taking, but then it goes back up nicely to lose the gains once again. 56.50-57.50 seems to be really strong resistance for LVS. i wouldn't be surprise to see it hit 50-52 before it really breaks out.

Tfcab, I'm with you on LVS as a long term hold. However, very disappointed with all these upgrades on the stock and yet it still can break out of this range.
More on Las Vegas Sands' (LVS) Q1: Casino revenue gained 15.5% Y/Y to $778.5M to help offset slips in the company categories such as rooms, conventions, and food and beverage. Slot handle revenue was flat, but the casino operator saw its table game win percentage increase 70 bps to help boost its drop. Macau begins to pay off in earnest with RevPAR soaring past the same measure at Vegas and other domestic properties. LVS +1% AH. (PR) [View news story]
Good earnings but not enough move the stock after hours.
Morgan Stanley doesn't think the resignation of the auditors for Las Vegas Sands (LVS) is a big deal as it backs its Overweight-rated gaming sector pick. Shares of LVS are riding the news better than some predicted, down -0.8% premarket, as the company already disclosed in March a few hiccups with its books and records. [View news story]
Whenever there's good news for this stock to break out its followed by very bad news to drive the stock back down a little. Q1 earnings is key for LVS to break out of this range.
Las Vegas Sands' (LVS) independent auditor Pricewaterhouse Coopers has resigned, with the accounting firm reportedly citing LVS's legal and regulatory issues as "the overriding issue" behind its departure. Last month, the casino operator disclosed that it probably breached the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, and it's the subject of a lawsuit from a former employee. However, LVS said it hasn't had any notable disputes with PWC going back to 2011. (SEC filing) [View news story]
I agree mike. This news is making me worried. Curious to see how the stock will react today.

I'm with you tfcab, I have a ton of calls n own the stock outright. Talk about not diversifying. Haha...LVS is supposedly taking market share from all the Macau players. Rumor of a special dividend last 2 wks ago was killed by the bird flu. Hoping for LVS to break out to new 52 wk highs. Long..$$$$
Casino watch: JPMorgan tips off that Las Vegas Sands (LVS +2.6%) could see an unexpected Q1 surprise from the Venetian Macao as the new property generates mass revenue at a faster pace than rival casinos. The first quarter earnings parade for the Macau gaming sector (MPEL, MGM, [{WYNN]]) launches today with Wynn Resorts. While channel checks by investment firms indicate strong April traffic in Macau despite the avian bird flu concerns, a confirmation from Wynn could really light up the sector. [View news story]
I've been waiting for LVS to explode to the upside! 60 next stop?
