Thanks Emmet for a very thought provoking article.
IMHO the writing is on the proverbial wall. It's just a matter of time. My Dad, who lived through the Great Depression, taught me that these things have a way of working out. We may not understand or like the results, but it will pass.
    Good luck to all!

David ~ Love the picture! They say "ignorance is bliss!" i'm beginning to believe that is the case with most individuals.
Please keep the graphs. I get a better picture of things when I can see it graphically.
Thanks again for timely information, and Merry Christmas!

  • Apple Shares Are A Screaming 'Bye' [View article]
I think that AAPL is working on a Holigraphic type of display. This would change most perceptions of TV as we currently know it. Opens many possibilities!

Personally, I think a lot of the selling was a result of "fiscal cliff" capital gains avoidance.
    Just my opinion..

  • Apple (AAPL) announces its next-gen iMac, first introduced at its iPad Mini event, will go on sale on Nov. 30. The iMac's ultra-thin design has created some buzz, but (in a recurring theme for Apple hardware lately) it looks as if its use of cutting-edge manufacturing processes will create supply constraints. Aside from reports of display shortages, Tim Cook mentioned on Apple's FQ4 earnings call there will initially be a "significant shortage" of iMac units. Both the 21.5" and 27" models use Nvidia (NVDA) GPUs. [View news story]
    No surprise....

  • Enough About Apple [View article]
I am long AAPL, but always appreciate any opposing views. It really is something to consider in all investments as to what direction a company will go. So that being said, a big thank you to the author for reminding me that "nothing lasts forever".

  • Apple's (AAPL) iPad Mini event will also feature the introduction of a 13" MacBook Pro with a retina display, according to a "consistently reliable source" at a major U.S. retailer speaking to 9to5 Mac. The notebook will reportedly come in 2 models, and will be thinner and lighter than the 15" retina MacBook Pro released earlier this year (ed: this could be a sign solid-state drives will be used) . A recent Digitimes report claimed the 13" model's release has been delayed by display yield issues. [View news story]
Well, I just happen to be in the market for a 13" Macbook, so I will be interested in the price it comes to market.

  • Something's Happening Here, What It Is Ain't Exactly Clear [View article]
David, great article! Always an interesting read.

Also interesting the title of the article refers to the lyrics of that famous Buffalo Springfield song “For What It’s Worth".

It's time to stop, children. What's that sound. Everybody look what's going down!
