  • The VIX ETN (VXX -6.6%) prints an all-time low, as does a related ETF (VIXY -6.6%), fear evaporating from the stock market even as German and U.S. 10-year yields under 1.6% suggest otherwise. Stocks themselves have rebounded nicely, mostly green a few minutes before the bell.  [View news story]
The summer ralley has lasted about 2 weeks. Does anyone know the longest summer ralley? My bet, the ralley will not last thru earnings. We may get positive earnings but it's all cooked in and the market dumps. Just my 2 cents worth...

Time to long vxx and watch the fireworks. Traditionally the markets will sell off july, aug, and sep. The can is kicked down the road so far. Then it lands on a stump and the next kick breaks your foot.

At least an accountant can read a finacial statement. Did he actually say he had a compsci degree? That compsci degree is worth 10 bucks an hour, ask any IT worker.

  • TransCanada (TRP) will today reapply for Presidential approval of the section of the Keystone pipeline that crosses the U.S.-Canada border, The Washington Post reports. TransCanada has altered the part of route that runs through Nebraska to allay ecological concerns, although environmentalists still aren't happy.  [View news story]
why do environmentalists have so much to say but when usa jobs are out sourced and americans lose their jobs and homes very little is done? Build the pipeline and lets worry about the environmentalists when the economy mends.

  • BofA (BAC) is reportedly in early stage talks with lawyers representing more than 1,000 former Merrill Lynch brokers over a settlement that could cost the bank hundreds of millions of dollars. The brokers, who left the firm after BofA's 2009 takeover, claim they're owed deferred compensation.  [View news story]
How much money did the brokers lose for their clients? This must be a joke. All the broker clients should sue the brokers for bad advise.

  • Harley-Davidson: Enjoy The Ride [View article]
I am waiting for my short setup, it looks like now. Sell 55 call and buy 60. So many used bikes available will hurt new bikes sales. Need to sell a lot of t-shirts to move the bottem line. The economy still sucks for their demographic. Who has 30k to drop on a bike, when the same bike with some extra addons go for 1/2 the price.
