I agree with you that right now isn't the ideal time. I am quite wary with these prices. But when we are at all time highs, we can't be afraid of the market simply because of higher prices. I think investors have a chance to jump in and ride the wave a bit longer, but they have to do it cautiously. That's why I've recommended a great and established company like McDonald's, who will climb back if it is hit.

Just to clear things up before people get confused (because I know there would be questions on this), I have been working on this article for two days. There is some waiting time in between when an author sends it in and the editor's approval, so you might notice that, according to some sources, this article was published a few minutes after the announcement of the dividend increase for KO. At the time that I was writing the article, the increase was not yet made.

In the long term, I think this scenario definitely has a chance of playing out. But there are just a few things:
3D printing is not exactly a common service yet. Although the time will probably come someday when we print out our broken spatulas, it is not here yet. The ambiguity of the industry makes me wonder if DDD will stay on top. I don't feel the company has really proved itself yet.
Now in the long haul, albeit a bit risky for the reasons I have mentioned, this could be a good investment. But I advised to sell in this article because it is far too overvalued and most of the buyers aren't thinking of buy and hold, they are listening to the pundits that you mention that are telling them to make a quick profit. I advise against this because I feel at some point this stock will fall when people have realized that the company's success will take a bit longer than expected, and then I would advise getting back into it when the losses have already been taken.
Although it has shown a few signs of possibly climbing back up, shareholders already took a hit earlier this week. There will be a time to buy, I just don't think it is now.

Although I agree that, if you're only considering the present moment, the numbers might make the stock more fairly valued than undervalued. But I like the growth and innovation that Nike is aiming for, even though it's already at the head of its industry. I think that when considering their growth prospects, their shares are undervalued. Although I don't expect their industry to have PEs that are all that high, I see plenty of average growth stocks surrounded by momentum that are trading well above 50 times earnings.

Although some people don't like the idea of considering growth opportunities in what are considered to be indications of the present value (especially in an already stable company), I look at it this way: Value is what you get, price is what you pay for. When you have great chances for growth, you're getting more for less.
