  • Stocks Are Moving Higher But Beware [View article]
    Honestly I don't think we'll be seeing a crash any time soon, at least not until interest rates go up. There is nowhere to put your money but stocks right now if you want a halfway decent return. Most GiCs offer 4% average at best and that's after a 10 year freeze. Keeping in a simple savings account gets you about 1% annually, and bonds that aren't junk won't fare you much better. Even with a low risk stock with a decent dividend payout you'll beat those returns.

  • American Eagle Delivers But Risks Remain [View article]
    It's definitely a play on a turnaround but at the same time the management is already aware that it needs to shape up and has already been doing so by closing some stores (some malls had two AEO stores in one building) and moving to a bigger, better online presence. AEO still has a lot of cash and a strong brand name (especially compared to ARO's deteriorating brand name in the eyes of teen shoppers). It's done the turnaround thing before and can do it again, in my opinion. I am long AEO.

  • Tesla: The Short Of The Decade? [View article]
    I agree that it's overvalued but how many years did LULU remain overvalued before it eventually came back to reality? In fact it only now rests in normal retail like P/E ratios. I don't have any TESLA shares because it's too overvalued for me, but I wish the company the best. I don't think it's a good buy, but I think it's a horrible short because this stock is currently the cool kid on the stock market.

  • Why Google Should Once Again Try To Buy Groupon [View article]
    Remember Google Video? They shut that down too. Then bought Youtube. Just because they shut it down doesn't mean they are not interested. In fact it probably points more to the fact that they are likely looking at acquisitions.

  • Earnings Preview: Groupon Q2 2014 [View article]
    SALE crashed today after earnings. Low guidance. Unless GRPN can beat and raise guidance I see another crash coming. Going to hold on for the long term though and tough out the waves.

  • Ford: $24 Is Within Reach [View article]
    "$20 should happen in the coming days. "

    That seems pretty fast for Ford. It's been a steady growth back to 18$ for a while now, I don't really expect any sort of pop like we'd see with other, more volatile stocks.

  • Nokia: Now Comfortably Waiting For The Advanced Technologies Catalyst [View article]
    The whole 'waiting for the pullback' is flawed because if you believe in the company and it's an appropriate value then why wait?

    I was discussing BMO and it was around 72$ a share at the time. A poster mentioned getting in when it went back down near 60$. There was no pull back and the stock is now at 82$ and will probably only see 60$ again when there is a stock split.

  • Buy Qualcomm Despite China Chaos [View article]
    The whole "spying" thing is moot because EVERY country spies on every other country. It's really stupid how people get hung up on this as it's been going on for ages.

    Everything I read on Fire points to it being a bust. No idea what they were thinking here getting into hardware. Even Nokia, a once giant in the mobile hardware industry, got out.

    @doggiecool

    Yeah I gathered you had dropped out for the time being. I sold my ~3$ shares a while ago on the sell to Microsoft news and only got back in last week. Elop was indeed a disaster, obvious now that he was looking for his big Microsoft payday. I feel like Suri is much different and will execute his plans with the Nokia brand in mind, not himself.

    Thank you, and good luck to you as well.

    @La Rue

    I've had my 520 for a year now and still love it. Sometimes takes better photos than my brother's iPhone5.

    We seem to have our eyes on the same investments haha.

    Agree with your points, but I am very optimistic they can pull it off. Mr. Suri seems very focused, realistic, and enthusiastic about Nokia and its prospects. I like the divisions, the management, the products, and the direction.

    Long Nokia (again).

  • 3 Reasons To Stay Away From Nokia [View article]
    Well I am happy I did not stay away from Nokia. After a review of the company and listening to CEO Suri talk I decided to once again invest a stake late last week. Nokia seems to be my golden goose.

  • Trouble Looming In The Market... [View article]
    So EA just beat earnings again... since they are a gaming company and gaming is a leisure activity, something people would hold back on if they were strapped for cash, shouldn't this be positive news on the market? Plus Intel also beat earnings. Seems like just some sectors are experiencing difficulty (retail, for example) but overall the market seems pretty strong.
