  • Husky Energy Goes From Cash Yield To DRIP, Launches New Oil Project  [View article]
Really enjoyed this article, thank you.

Although I could stomach more losses on this stock I'm wondering if it's kind of in vain at this point since they won't be paying a cash dividend anymore (which I believe was a good decision) and it's really anyone's guess when the price of oil/barrel will start to rise again. I think a lot of people figured it would have happened already. I do like how management is handling things though and I like the diversification.

  • Generation Y: Buying Worthless Degrees Instead Of Houses  [View article]
Maybe not to that extent but I do have friends (we're all Y) that have houses owned because their parents either bought it or bought part of it. I also have friends who live in depressed areas of the country (I live in Canada) and have good jobs so they were able to buy a house as a couple quite easily.

  • Mattel Is Preparing For An Epic Christmas  [View article]
MAT got some free publicity from the Hipster Barbie Instagram account. I can't remember the last time I saw Barbie in the (non business related) news headlines.

  • Ford August Sales Crush Expectations - It's Time To Buy  [View article]
Wouldn't they be buy and holds for a dividend investor though? I mean the stock itself is almost a non mover no matter how much good news comes out, but the dividend keeps increasing because F makes more than enough earnings to pay it.

I enjoy the way you handle comments from users who simply try to mock or berate you for your positions. I bought MAT at average 31$ and plan on holding for a long time. Do you do dividend reinvestment or simply buy the dips? Or both?

  • Barbie strategy heads toward superhero over super body  [View news story]
Toys aren't the sole reason but they do have an influence, just like everything else. Regardless of whether they do or don't though, the point is a lot of parents believe that they do, so they will stay away from Barbie for that reason. As a MAT holder I expect the company to move with the thinking of the generation they are trying to sell to.

Your comment has the same effect on me.

Anyway, regardless what you think of them, what they think of the toys they are buying for their children will have affect the bottom line of a toy company.

  • Has Apple Found The Holy Grail Of Electric Vehicles?  [View article]
One thing Apple has is exceptional service in their stores. If they are indeed planning on a car then they would need to keep that level of service at their distribution locations.

I'm really intrigued by fuel cell technology; I really hope it takes off. If Apple is taking an interest in it that is great news because they can easily fund R&D.

I have a bunch of cash in my TFSA for TSX investing so I would be OK with some lower prices there too. All in all I'm actually not in a panic because I'm confident in the companies I chose to invest in.

Even with most of my money in stocks I wouldn't mind a nice big correction as I save up money on the sidelines and get paid dividends to reinvest. Also in most big cities of Canada the prices of houses is way too high. Wouldn't mind a reality check on those as well.
