How Apple's Market Share Will Propel Stock to $500, Part 1 [View article]
Easy to get off the point here, MS sell an Operating System, not a particularly good one, the latest iteration requires users to reinstall everything what a great time to switch to a Mac. With Apple it's all about an experience and a loyalty that no other manufacturer generates. I am 71 years old and have had Macs since 1987, I have never had a PC so they are still a mystery to me, I have converted all of my family and we are connected worldwide through iChat, I live in Hong Kong and can see my grandchildren in two other countries any time I want to. I am sure this can be done with PCs but not as easily, I have anecdotal evidence of this from many of my frustrated friends. I was in the iPhone service centre today (the first time I have ever sought service for an Apple product) the camera on my wife's phone ceased to function. Whilst there a grey haired gentleman and a younger man came in, they were father and son, both had iPhones dad was carrying a MacBook pro 15in and his son had a MacBook Pro 13in, it was fun to watch them and share their joy in all things Apple. This is what Steve has done he has created a community of people who whatever the circumstances will continue to buy the products he develops and builds, if ever there was proof of this then this years performance was it. When MS start to build computers and not just suspect software I will give them some thought but until then I'll go with the Jobster. Others make things cheaper, Apple makes things better.
What a curious article do you think he wrote it just to get noticed, like a little kid I'll say something outrageous and see what the grown ups do. I can only assume you don't get paid for this kind of nonsense because if this is the best you can do you should not give up your day job and maybe get a life. Oh and enjoy the profits this useless company generated for you. go AAPL go Steve
With IBM's record of performance on UK government contracts I wouldn't hold my breath. Has everyone forgotten the last fiasco where they walked away because they could not meet the spec they had been instrumental in defining to get the bid. The fine was substantial but better than the bottomless pit the project became. Every single major IT project in the UK in the last 11 years has turned into a disaster and major corporate reputations have suffered. Think Police, NHS, Inland Revenue the list is a long one. Far from perpetual benefit they might end up in perpetual purgatory, government change in 2010/12 will not help.

How can anyone take this crap seriously does he know anything about AAPL? Not screwing your early adopters has been a Steve creed for a long time now and I don't believe it is going to change any time soon. The new iphone just left everything else for dead and now they can all rush around playing catch up until the man decides what will be "just one more thing"

apple continue to create, dominate and own any market segment that they choose to enter, they set the rules and the standards which all other manufacturers aspire to, everyone else is constantly playing catch up, do i need to say more??
The good news is that AAPL are the first shares in my portfolio to be back in the black, only 20c per share but still the first. This company is amazing and will continue to amaze as it carries through its very clear strategies to own and dominate those markets it performs in.

who is this person I can only assume it's a woman what a stupid rant did she ever do any business or has she spent her life writing twaddle like this. A contract is a contract for better or for worse, if you can't stand a joke you shouldn't sign up.

there is a world out there i agree with the first comment this is a US centric comment and should be ignored by the other 6.4 billion people in the world.
I read once that at product design sessions Jobs encourages people to start sentences with "wouldn't it be great if" and they go on from there. Compare this to MSFT which is more like "isn't it great we can still do this" Long live SJ and AAPL.
