  • Why Yahoo Is Worth $34 [View article]
The person behind Yahoo's resurgence is Dan Loeb. His goal before he stepped into Yahoo was to make money by unlocking the value of the company's hidden assets, namely, investments in Alibaba and Yahoo Japan. The core business is worth something, perhaps in the low teens, but the real value is in the Asian investments, conservatively estimated at $20 Billion. Any analysis on Yahoo's valuation, should recognize these assets in the base case. Buy side analysts' employers have been buying like crazy, based on money flow data and block trades.

The Kirabook is nearly half a pound lighter – with a touchscreen – than the Retina MacBook Pro. If you opt-out of the Kirabook’s touchscreen, the weight drops to 2.6 pounds. Toshiba says the Kirabook’s magnesium alloy chassis is 10 percent stronger than the aluminum used in the MacBook Pro. Plus, on the inside of the notebook, the chassis has a honeycomb pattern for additional strength and rigidity.
