yes I do. It is called QNX and you'd be incorrect to state that QNX is not something required (or fast becoming so) in automotive, space, health, etc.

QNX will be the architecture to run the IoT.

    Plain and simple.

It is never too late to become what you might have been.

    -George Elliot

So long as BB has backers and isn't bleeding profusely then it is only a function of time until the cream rises to the top.

Passport is best device out there. Bar none

ahh if life were so simple that one could name dates with precision...

thankfully if you don't play options then you don't have to be so precise.

Blackberry has the IP that the future will require to operate efficiently, safely and securely.

It's only a matter of time.

no I'm a Bull still and will be for a while to come.

What I meant was that when the shares are trading well into the $20s in a couple of years you won't care if your average cost is 9 or 12, you'll be happy nonetheless!!

And yes ask yourself why are so many major forces trying to quash Blackberry? The answer is simple: Blackberry has what they need to thrive in the growing age of the IoT and the security needs of same.

Good BB10 devices have only been out since the Z30 but regardless the reason for the low sales is stigma and point-of-sales (employees of carriers guiding potential sales away from BB to Android or iOS) related.

Time will correct these. Perhaps releasing dual-boot phone might tip the scales although BB10 already runs Android Apps just fine.

I suppose a Google Play license would serve as a catalyst.

again, sales are suffering as a result of past mis-steps that have created a present moment stigma in the consumer.

But now that BB10 can run android apps, has superior hardware and software and battery life, it is only a matter of time until devices regain some traction.

As for the 'indispensability' aspect- that is coming. It is coming when iOS and Android become increasingly vulnerable to hacks and corporate MDM platforms become even more breachable...

Then as Chen has said- the World will come to Blackberry.

I will be waiting with open arms.

the present is based on the past stigma of BB devices as being primitive and unable to surf the web or without having apps.

that's why they don't sell, along with the weight that Apple and Samsung have with the carriers.

But you have missed my point:

As time goes on the need for security and the efficiency of QNX will become more and more necessary.

Blackberry is well-positioned for the future that will arrive though the present appears bleak.

Thankfully they have the management to preserve their capital and deep-pocketed investors and institutions that won't panic and sell themselves out short.

I have no problem waiting another 1-5 years. And I will keep buying it under $10.

I'm up on my investment in Blackberry thank you.

    Silent Circle and the 'Blackphone'.

    Do they have any sales?

What does a Blackphone retail for?

Because that is closer to fair value at the moment. Today's sell-off was momentum-based, BB is an easy target for day-trading short-sellers. They were also trying to take out the stops under $8.80 but couldn't succeed.

Will the turnaround to sustained and growing profitability take time? Yes. at least another year. So be it.

In the end analysis whether an investor got in at $9 or at $12 won't make much difference.

The company's value is worth orders of magnitude more in the long run due to it's monopoly on security and the myriad of applications that QNX offers than no other OS can.

And please KIA don't go throwing around your Blackphone or Huwai RTOS as threats to BB's IP monopoly.

That's just not practical, credible, nor real.

hardware is behind? only on paper.

by actual performance standards it is light-years ahead and the gap is growing..

25 hours battery life on Passport/Z30
    better antennas
doesn't feel like a cheap toy

I could go on and on...

it's not good obviously but it could have been much worse.

I expect the share price to now rise and significantly back to 10.50

    Eric D,

the 'day' that I referred to was not literal but I"m sure you knew that....

this story is far from over, BB is well-positioned for the future...

You just might not realize it quite yet..

    Blackphone? Really KIA??

Nice try but Blackberry is the future.

Because its OS is FUTURE-PROOF! haha that was just for you.

If you think that EV at 4.5 B is fair value for the company's cash and assets in a rapidly changing technological landscape then keep buying your puts but my money is long and strong and I don't care if it takes the full 6 quarters that Chen said it might today on the CC, when the turnaround starts in earnest it will be because the world is coming to Blackberry for security and I'm going to be licking my chops from the ground floor.

(or about 3 feet above it.) ;)

    Great info eieio!
