  • More on BlackBerry: Lenovo buyout speculation has picked up again thanks to remarks made by Lenovo (LNVGY.PK) CEO Yang Yuanqing to a French paper. "As for BlackBerry, the [acquisition] could possibly make sense. But first I have to analyze the market well and understand what is the exact weight of this company." CFO Wong Dai suggested in January his company is open to buying BlackBerry (BBRY +9.1%), but Lenovo later downplayed those remarks. [View news story]
This hints at the beginning of BBRY licencing out their superior software.

    The time has come.

Back. Truck. Up. and enjoy the ride.

  • BlackBerry (BBRY) loses another big enterprise customer as Home Depot is reportedly switching to Apple's (AAPL) iOS for all store managers and corporate-level employees. The move will have the company swapping out about 10K Blackberrys for iPhones. At this point the approximately 60K Motorola phones used by floor employees will not be affected. [View news story]
One of is a fan boy that is quite evident. IOS is maxed out and rather buggy judging from my iPod. When you actually have a BB10 in your hands for a day or two get back to us. Otherwise you are merely speaking on conjecture.

  • In spite of receiving plenty of sell-side love, BlackBerry (BBRY -0.8%) couldn't hold onto its post-earnings gains. Bernstein thinks BlackBerry's results/guidance indicate "resilience in service revenue" in spite of pricing changes - BlackBerry claims most of its 3M sub losses came from the low-ARPU prepaid segment. Thorsten Heins stated on the earnings call 55% of Z10 buyers have been from other platforms. Cheaper BB10 models are due later this year. EMEA made up 46% of FQ4 sales, Latin America 18%, Canada 8%, and the U.S. and Asia-Pac 14% apiece. (more[View news story]
As they say- old habits (and stereotypes) die hard.

But what is real cannot be denied for long- the light of BB10 will soon shine on those who come into contact with it's effortlessness.

And like an ember from a campfire can initiate a forest fire, so too will the tide turn and the world at large be won over.

    But, first, give it time...

All good things in all good time.

  • BlackBerry (BBRY +8.3%) has received an order for 1M BB10 phones from one of its "established partners" (exactly whom remains a mystery). The announcement has sent shares flying higher over the final hour of trading. Also: Verizon (VZ) says it will begin selling the Z10 on March 28, and will start taking pre-orders tomorrow. As was rumored, the carrier will have exclusive access to a white version of the device. [View news story]
pretty sure the gig is up for the shorts. at least those who can read the writing on the wall. those who remain willfully blind, well, they will get their just desserts.

  • The QWERTY-sporting BlackBerry Q10 might not be available in the U.S. until May or early June, though other markets are expected to get it by April, Thorsten Heins states in an interview. He adds early Z10 sales in the U.K. are "beyond expectations," and suggests BlackBerry (BBRY +6.8%) is willing to evaluate takeover offers. Many, but not all, of the early reports (I, II) on U.K. Z10 sales are positive. [View news story]
Not sure I like this- that they are now publically saying they are open to takeover offers. Something doesn't smell right.
