  • BlackBerry invests in healthcare software firm, will jointly develop phone [View news story]
Where did you get the part about the development of the smartphone? It's not in the press release.

  • Reports: BlackBerry trims salesforce [View news story]
*facepalm* I agree with the above poster. It is ridiculous to scream "over half of the sales force cut" which suggests hundreds at least to the average reader. But "dozens" or "twenty" doesn’t sell paper. I hope they go private quickly and end this trash talking.

  • Reports: BlackBerry looking to find buyer by Nov., Microsoft "keeping an eye" [View news story]
All speculation based on "unnamed sources". Bah! It isn't worth the paper it's printed on until it's official. BB has over $3 BILLION in cash. $2.7 B in patents. Other assets - both physical and intellectual. Don't count them out until they say so. Going private is the last concrete thing they said. As a stockholder, I'll be watching this intently.

  • Are Android Apps Coming To Your BlackBerry? It Seems Likely [View article]
ALL 700,000 Android apps?!?! Blows the mind. I would love to know more, especially how 'native' the user experience would be. Having sideloaded Android apps before (two), I have found the experience tedious to use them. Also, if an Android app is not ported over with some attention to detail and user experience, it can make for a poor app. I would love to learn more. If it's done well, the sky's the limit for BlackBerry!

  • BlackBerry Surprises With Profit Even As Subscriber Loss Deepens [View article]
When you refute the "Best in the market " quote above you misunderstand. 'Best' refers to quality. I have used the SG3, iPhone as well as the Z10. Neither can hold a candle to BlackBerry's latest. It is fast and efficient. The GS3 is a maze of menus and sub-menus to get anything set up. Grossly inefficient. As why should I be forced to add an app to improve the keyboard?! That's just ridiculous. And try running several apps at the same time on an iPhone. Not pretty. Sorry but the Z10 is far better at making it easy to get things done than the others and I haven't heard anything different for the GS4.

  • BlackBerry Z10 - No Zeros For Indonesia [View article]
Indonesia is a less-wealthy country than Canada and UK, where the Z10 went on sale first, and its carriers don't offer the carrier subsidies that wealthier countries do. So in that case having sell-outs for "Off-contract" level pricing is even more significant.

  • BlackBerry: Z Is For Zero [View article]
You don't have to go anywhere unless you want them to do it. It is obviously easiest if you are transferring from one BlackBerry to another. The Z10 uses BlackBerry Link (instead of BB Desktop Manager) but the process is similar. Just take your time and hook up both phones and use Switch Devices. There are directions on BlackBerry.com and also CrackBerry.com for BlackBerry, Android and iOS users.

  • BlackBerry: Z Is For Zero [View article]
Wilson, repeat after me: It. Has. The. Apps. Before you start repeating that old tripe about apps, actually look at the selection available to Z10 owners. I have a Z10 and all the apps I want.

  • BlackBerry Has Taken A Licking, But Will Keep On Ticking [View article]
Thanks, George for your calming commentary. This stock will likely be volatile for a while given the past few months' history and, as you said, no-one knows the numbers until March 28th. Even then since they will not include US sales (except for a very tiny fraction if at all), true indicators will only start to come out, in my opinion, at the next quarter's financials. Don't forget that there are many people who cannot upgrade right away as they are on contract. However, if the on-the-ground indicators from Canada and the UK are right, people are moving to the new BlackBerry from other platforms in not insignificant numbers.

  • Attention BlackBerry Shorts: See Order Flow To Vendors [View article]
I'm cautious about whether it's a carrier or government. All BlackBerry said was that it was a "BlackBerry partner ". You could be right. Just no-one is talking.

  • BlackBerry: Dual-Screen Phone And Battlefield For Analysts [View article]
Pure negative speculation. I'm surprised you'd write it here. The US DoD has all the money they need. Perhaps they don't need to test BlackBerry as much as the others...ever thought of that? Unless they actually say what they're ordering or you are the head of procurement, you don't know what they will do.
