  • MBIA victim of huge data leak [View news story]
MBIA were more perpetrators of this leak than victims. There was no "breach", they just published material they obviously shouldn't have.

  • No. The Microsoft Surface Pro 3 Will Not Replace My Laptop [View article]
Microsoft has already lost over a billion dollars on their inept tablet strategy. And they haven't fixed their problems, they're just churning more products out at even higher price points.

  • Report: Comcast prefers to work with Charter over TWC bid [View news story]
Comcast's involvement makes it more difficult from an antitrust perspective. CHTR - TWC would be relatively straightforward but Comcast's size raises red flags.

  • Berkshire Hathaway Will Likely Acquire USG [View article]
Agreed. Berkshire is only involved because Buffett negotiated great deals when USG was distressed. That's a lot different from buying common at market price.

They have made money as junk bond holders at the expense of USG shareholders, they haven't made any money with USG shareholders.

  • Why I Shake Hands With Losers To Become A Winner [View article]
Airline consolidation is good in the short term. But long term there are still minimal barriers to entry. I would argue the legacy carriers still have negative moats despite all the bankruptcies they have been through. In other words fresh entrants to the industry can have an immediate advantage over the poorly run legacy carriers.

Originality is overrated. The people who compared BBRY to PALM the last 3 years have been correct - the company has struggled and the share price has crashed.
