    The issue with these Microsoft statistics is that they include the number of OEM installs in their statistics. Meaning that in reality Vista might not have sold ANY copies of the upgrade vista install in retail space, but the number would still be 20M simply because PC sales are ongoing, and its near impossible to walk into a store and buy anything else other than a Vista machine.
