  • BlackBerry Vs. Apple: Which Is A Winning Bet For 2013? [View article]
AAPL vs BBRY? You want to know the real winner? Ask your teenage and pre teen sons and daughters. This isn't some trick question, go ask them and listen to what they have to say.

Then ask your business colleagues. Compile the answers. You will have the winner, or winners.

Thanks for shedding some light for those of us not brushed up on how QNX works. I don't get the steak analogy, however it doesn't detract from the 'meat' of the article. Cheers.

  • BlackBerry: The Show Hasn't Even Started Yet [View article]
Good advice for longs to not be too attached in case the market takes it south on the 28th. I'm long and am betting it goes up past $25 very shortly, however I will have protection in place just in case. If it does happen to go down I will buy back in new the bottom because the fact remains, the Z10 is such a great device, even the S4 doesn't look as good its just faster hardware built on an old OS, apple as well.

My 11 year old nice wants a Z10... that's a huge vote of confidence.

All this and the Q10 isn't even on the market yet. And there Are still 4 more devices coming in 2013. $BBRY will be very profitable for the longs this year.

  • Where Is BlackBerry Heading? [View article]
Good article, however most people don't put as much emphasis on apps that the US media and analysts do. People don't follow apps, the apps follow people. A phone sells if it's a good phone, apps are considered later.

  • Bullish notes from Goldman's Simona Jankowski and Jefferies' Peter Misek didn't stop BlackBerry (BBRY -3.8%) from giving back some of yesterday's gains. Jankowski sees 2M-3M BB10 shipments apiece for the May-November quarters, and says Z10 checks at nearly 40 stores in 4 countries indicate "most stores had a successful launch week, followed by steady demand." Misek says his checks indicate build orders have been raised 3 times in 6 weeks, and speculates the 1M-unit order likely came from a U.S. carrier or a top distributor (Ingram Micro/Brightstar). [View news story]
    Probably means March.

  • BYOD: When 800,000 Apps Becomes A Bad Thing [View article]
Great article, while I wouldn't exactly call Windows open source, Microsoft has changed and are very supportive of the open source model.

  • The DoD will open its networks to iOS (AAPL) and Android (GOOG) devices in Feb. 2014, as part of an effort to develop a "platform agnostic" device policy. That's a negative for BlackBerry (BBRY -3.7%), which currently accounts for 470K of the 600K mobile devices deployed by the DoD, and could be contributing to today's weakness. The DoD, which issued security guidelines for iOS/Android gear last year, adds it's looking to support BB10. (Home Depot[View news story]
BBRY is also developing security software for iOS and android, in addition to letting them play in BES 10.

  • BlackBerry: Waiting For The Sunshine [View article]
Costco in Halifax, NS has a wireless booth inside, which I forget its name, however they have the Z10 front and center, which takes up 50% of their display space. I was there looking for a red transform case but they were sold out of them.

One customer approached and was playing with the Z10 and practiced typing in demo mode so I took the opportunity to show him mine, specifically time shift. He mentioned his work forced him to have I phone 5 but he wants a Z10 because it's newer, faster.

He bought one, and now has 2 cell phones, his work device and his new Z10. Looks like the tables are turned, and perhaps enterprise iphone clients may be pressured to satisfy their employees desire to only carry one device. And BlackBerry Balance seems like the perfect fit.

Now I'm obviously reading information this, but it's not impossible. My point is word of mouth truly is the best marketing.
