  • Your Earnings Season Preview: BlackBerry [View article]
If you're not sure what to believe why not take it directly from the horses mouth?

Past earnings reports are invalid as this is a NEW product. The brand still has a loyal following, even in the US of A. And the new Z10 is doing a fine job in converting existing iphone and Android users (not to mention existing BB users which is a no brainer)

And Apps go where the users go, not the other way around. When reports come in that BB has sold well (in the millions), you will see a flood of apps come in to the BB marketplace. It's also worth mentioning that porting Android apps to BB10 is stupid simple and can be done by ANYONE in a matter of minutes. Talk about an incentive for companies to port their own apps!

  • I Still Don't Fully Understand Prem Watsa's BlackBerry Investment [View article]
Tim, Plenty never blamed Jim Balsillie, he said the media focused on him which is true. You sound pretty defensive saying that. Also, Lazaridis is a huge asset and the main reason BB bought QNX. He will continue to contribute to BBs success.

  • Why I Maintain My $39 Price Target On BlackBerry [View article]
@Lew69sd, the very fact that you're waiting with anticipation for the Q10, and complaining out loud that you want the phone now is testament that their marketing strategy is working. Blackberry knows that the people who want qwerty phones are going to wait, and the time frame gives just enough time for the initial Z10 hype to die down. The moral of the story is, don't blow your load all at once. And as other users have pointed out, BlackBerry can have another release event in the spring to combat Samsung and Apples new devices. Companies like this don't leave their marketing to chance, it's very very calculated.

  • BlackBerry: Buy, Sell Or Hold? [View article]
And I always get a good chuckle when some analyst says that Blackberry is "ONLY launching with 70,000 apps!!!" LOL

People don't realize that a good majority of the apps out there are total crap, and people generally use only a handful of decent to high quality apps. So of the 800,000 or 1 million apps Apple has, I would wager that 95% of them are garbage.

    ONLY 70,000!! LMFAO!

  • 10 Reasons The BlackBerry 10 May Save The Day For RIM [View article]
Darren, did you notice at the end of the gallery (starting on photo 96 - BB10 apparently allows users to create their own NFC tags!! With the added ability to lock the NFC tag so it can't be tampered with (Security 101 for RIM). According to this, NFC tags can be programmed by holding it up to your BB device; and alternatively QR codes could be printed on plain paper, for the camera/optical reader.

The programmable NFC tag is one feature I haven't heard anything about, but it's totally doable with the current NFC technology and super awesome to boot. I can see these things starting to appear in bars and clubs downtown, stuck to a bathroom wall - saying something like "I dare you to scan me with your phone..." LoL!
