  • Led By the Dollar, Fiat Currencies Will Continue To Approach Zero [View article]
I own a 1933 US silver dollar. when it was minted the silver content was worth exactly that; 1 dollar.

From that time until now, the US dollar has lost 92% of its value. Therefore by your argument I should have rejected the dollar for the whole of the 20th century...luckily I didn't!

You give goldbugs a bad name.

the officially accepted definition of "hyperinflation" is 50% per month inflation.

Be careful how you use the term.

    Mr Tan,

    Again, a well reasoned post.

Not sure about your reference to hyperinflation, however. Though US inflation is certainly above the official %, there is no way that the US can fall into a hyperspiral. Hyperinflation is an overused and badly understood concept in any country that has not directly experienced it.

    Dear Mister Tanashian,

I note with interest that hui touched a 330 low today. It seems your pseudoscience has had a lucky day ;-)

Would you care to recommend any particular gold stocks at this point as good "rebound" plays from a ^hui 330 level?

I remain, sir, your faithful servant,

  • Bullish on Gold, Bearish on Everything Else  [View article]
    not a bad argument.......for a chartist :-)

Regarding the carry trade comment: the prophets of doom were out in force late Feb on this subject. But here we are in samo samo land. Why should any short-term Yen movement seriously affect the carry trade party, mister Tanashian? I'd say we're more likely to feel a blip and then carry on carrying.
