  • Apple Pay Hoopla Shows We Have Hit Peak Apple [View article]
This article shows a lack of understanding of Apple and their various ecosystems. ApplePay won't be anything other than to drive more people to buy its product. Millions of people have had their credit cards hacked this year alone. The card is ancient piece of garbage that Apple has found a way to make secure. Once the public realizes this, bar the door, Apple will be the only phone to buy. What's more important is that this is a win-win for the banks, the merchants and the customers and a big lose-lose for the hackers and con artist. I for one have had 4 cards hacked this year, most of which haven't cost me money but have causes a lot of aggravation to fix. So Apple Pay is for me.

  • Apple Pay More Significant Than Apple Watch [View article]
Excellent work! The press and other commentators are poo-pooing the new iPhone 6 and Watch as no big deal. They really missed the whole event when they forgot its not about the phone itself anymore, its about what you can do with it! Apple Pay is a step in the right direction and will bring about lots of new innovation on the retail and as well Apple side. Watch is different in what you can and can't do with it, just like the iPhone was when it first came out. There were few apps then, now look at it! I commend Apple's innovation and am excited to see what happens next.

  • 3 Reasons The Apple Launch Disappointed [View article]
People like you poo-poo'ed the iPod, iPhone, and iPad when they came out as well. Yet none of you step up and say "Oh, yes, I am the one who poo-poo'd this when it came out. Apple is probably the most watched company in the world. They can't sneeze without people taking note of which brand of tissue they pull out. No surprise then that there wasn't anything that wasn't already leaked to the press. However, no one came up with the Watch screens, functionality, crown function, interoperability with the iPhone, etc. The iPhone 6 is amazing and I for one plan to upgrade my 5 to a 6. The NFC feature is amazing and oversteps the PayPal and Amazon similar approaches. I will also buy a watch when it comes out. Its phenomenal and beyond anything else on the market today. I hope the market proves you wrong on all counts.

  • Why Apple Won't Build A Cheap iPhone... And Why It Should [View article]
If you are just comparing hardware, so be it. But for those who go beyond the physical phone, Apple is way ahead with their ecosystem. We have friends who live in China and for the most part, they are tired of the crummy cheap phones that offer little other than making calls and internet connection. They and most of their friends want the Apple iPhone even if it means an older model. As they remind me, its not about the name on the phone, its about what can this phone do for me. Apple more than Android, Windows or others can do what these people want. Granted as missionaries the can't afford much, but their expectations are that a iPhone 4 or 5 is still better than what Samsung or Google offer.

  • Why Apple Won't Build A Cheap iPhone... And Why It Should [View article]
I think Apple is on the right path. Once the iPhone 6 comes to market, that will free up an enormous supply of used phones to recycle into new phones for BRIC markets. Apple is way ahead on this and I believe we will see a great deal of marketing by them and others for trade-in values when the 6 surfaces. I know that our company has plans to by all new 6's for our staff to replace our 5's. My family which mainly have 4's and 4S's also plan to upgrade at that time. So you could see as much as 50mil of these phones available next year for those markets.

  • The Genius Of The Apple iPhone 6 [View article]
jj1937-Google closing the Motorolla plant here in Ft. Worth, which made the MotoX. Not enough demand was the reason. Likely though there were cost implications. Americans want good quality cheap stuff. The Chinese have come around on the quality and with 1 billion people there, cheap labor will always be available. Hence the American companies are all flocking there to not only manufacture, but now with a new Chinese middle class, there are huge sales gains as well. So before you criticize Americans not buying American, look around for the facts.

  • Apple's iWatch May Have A 37% Net Profit Margin [View article]
Don't discount that the Apple infrastructure will drive sales to the iWatch. Already in iOS 8 we are seeing a number of options that will benefit an iWatch. Fashion will also drive this vehicle as will peer pressure. This is all dependent upon Apple delivering a watch that is so typical of Apple, loaded with features that consumers never realized that they wanted, but flock to anyway. The Apple ecosystem wasn't around when the iPod and iPhone came into existence, in the degree it is today, so look for this phone to be an extension that fully takes advantage. Something Samsung and others can only envy. If the watch is as promised, I will be a buyer and am long on APPL and getting longer.

  • Apple: Reevaluating My Investment [View article]
Many times a stocks true valuation is more forward looking than looking at current metrics or past performance. If you get too caught up in past performance, you will never see the the upside coming, nor the downside looming. Too many investors have found this out the hard way. AAPL has a tremendous pipeline of new products forthcoming. However one must ask, will they make a profit, will customer demand and interest pique like it did on so many of their past projects, what comes next from these guys? Those are the questions we must focus on that will determine the long term valuation and logic for investment in this stock.

  • Apple: It's Panic Time [View article]
Apple has always been very secretive about its future products. That both helps and hurts them as we have seen. Though what has hurt them more than anything, is to put out a product that is flawed. Such as the new IP5 with a flawed Maps program. Or the IP4 with a bad antenna. So, I believe Cook when he says their passion is to make the very best products for their customers. And if it takes longer to get perfection, in the end they will get hammered less than if they rushed products to market or made product announcements they can not possibly fulfill. I am out of the market now, but definitely view this latest drop in AAPL as an opportunity to buy back in at a low low price. A year from now many will be regretting not jumping in on this downturn.

  • Apple: iOS7 Might Be Another Shot In The Foot [View article]
To me the design is clean, crisp and a vast change from the current Android design that seems to scream it graphics to you. I am looking forward to the new IOS7, and many of the new features it offers. Apple gets few kudos for providing the updates free of charge. Thanks Apple!

  • Tim Cook's Improbable Victory In Washington [View article]
The Politicians in their lust for more tax money, have cut corporate loopholes, increased taxes on corporations for years, figuring that "People" who vote would support this. Instead, what has occurred is manufacturing has been largely pushed off shore, and as well the profits that go with that. The "People" who supported these Politicians have largely been displaced from their jobs, and their over promising Unions have largely shrunk. Now these same Politicians want more money from the "Greedy" Corporations, so they can take care of the "People" who are suffering so. Stop this insanity PEOPLE! A free ride never lasts very long and usually takes you some place where you don't want to go. Politicians are the greedy ones here, who never have to face up to their decisions made, they just point the fingers at others. What we need in this country is real Tax Law Changes, which put us on a competitive basis with the rest of the world. We need to bring manufacturing back here to the US, were taxation is properly realized. I believe this is what Apple is referring to, and when you give it due thought, they are right.

  • Apple Solved Its First Problem [View article]
The media and for that fact consumers comparison shop/compare the hardware aspects of Apple and Samsung. I think that is short minded, as Apple has built this ecostructure around all of its products that makes the sum of all the hardware, software, apps, etc. add up together more than the sum individually. Our company has found ways to use this ecostructure to our benefit, providing better efficiency -plus to display to our customers our technology brings real benefits to them as well. As such, if a phone is bigger or smaller or talks differently or not, is just not what I am focused on. I really don't care. Apple helps me make more money, sadly our trials with Blackberry, Palm, HTC and Samsung have not, as they are singularly focused. I look forward to new products from Apple as it will quite possibly open new doors for my company. I am long AAPL, bought more today.

  • Apple: Too Far, Too Fast? [View article]
Bill, good article, thanks for sharing. While there is much debate and consternation on Apples current products, new products is what all investors are truly focusing on, and when that happens, the stock will be rewarded handsomely. Your analysis is a good one based upon pre-product analysis, but once those new products are out, Katy bar the door, it will be a growth stock again. If the new products are not well thought out, then likewise, it will drop like a tank in the ocean.

  • How Apple Let Its Shareholders Down [View article]
The market in general is not rewarding AAPL for its cash horde in its stock price, so not sure AAPL should make efforts to repatriate that cash back at a premium tax basis. A foreign acquisition might eat up that cash for them without the penalty. AAPL seems to be doing the right thing buy borrowing at a low rate and avoiding paying a 3%+ dividend on those shares it takes back.
