  • Rare Earths Are Once Again the Place to Be  [View article]
I am curious why you tout REE when UURAF has a project at Bokan Mt. that is closer to production as it is located in a mine with infrastructure and roads in place? It also seems the assays at UURAF Bokan are higher grade than the REE Bear Lodge area finds.

  • The Number of Nearest-in-Time Potential American Critical Heavy Rare Earths Producers is Increased by One: The Coming Rare Earth Junior Mining Cull, Crystal Balls and Brass Balls  [View instapost]
How would you compare the recent finds of REE and UURAF just using the data they provide? I looked at the data available through a couple of articles and the percentage of heavy elements seemed higher by far in the UURAF data. Given that the infrastructure is already in place at UURAF's Bokan Mt. mine, UURAF seems a more reasonable risk, near term risk.

  • Ford Is a Buy at About $15 per Share  [View article]
A note I received from Brion Tanous at Clean Tech IR (Quantum)
"I want to clarify that Quantum does not have an OEM relationship with Ford. Quantum hopes to generate demand for the vehicle and receive orders from fleets for the conversion of the vehicles to a PHEV platform."

What I know is provided in this press release by QTWW
"Quantum has developed a new Plug-in Hybrid Version of the highest volume selling vehicle in America, the Ford F150 Pickup Truck, and will be providing them directly to fleet customers."
It is not clear if there is an actual contract or formal agreement with Ford to provide Ford fleet customers with plug in hybrid pickups or that customers go to Quantum to get their needs met. Maybe there is more I don't know than I know after re-reading the press release. It is vague, is it not?

I know that ford is taking their F series pickups to a hybrid electric model with normal payloads, both 2 wheel and 4 wheel drive models with standard size beds. Look at QTWW recently to see where Ford is making another move and the effects on that stock. (I have QTWW shares)

  • Pushing on a String: A Treacherous Game for Markets  [View article]
If gradual austerity is really the way out, with a long term focus, then balancing the federal budget deficit is the best place to start. Maintaining the Bush tax cuts is just extending the mistakes of the past and passing the buck on to the next generation (someone else should pay for it?).
They have eased the dollar down a bit. Now is the time to work on balancing the budget. The market and US creditors, IMHO, are looking for fiscal responsibility and for us to return as leaders in economic accountability and reasonable consumption without exporting our debt.
